"What happened? Why the hell do you look like you've been chased by rogues?" The guard's head lolled forward. Blood dripped from a gash above his eyebrow, tracing a dark line down his cheek. He clawed at Malcolm's sleeve, struggling to stay upright. His voice came out in ragged, broken pieces. "No... it's not rogues. It was..." He coughed, wet and horrible. "Kyle's twin daughters. With Alistair. They're trying to break the east gate." The words hit me like a physical blow.

The world spun. She hit stone—hard, unyielding. Her shoulder screamed in pain. The ruin they’d once seen from afar now loomed around them, jagged arches rising like ribs of a dead god. Between them pulsed the glow: a gate, vast and veiled, its light crimson, its surface trembling like the skin of a heartbeat. The Gate of Ashes. But the Tribunal had no intention of letting them reach it unscathed.

The torches blazed brighter, the wolves howled loudly, and the council members smiled with satisfaction. Camela's scream pierced through the darkness of the night. Her fingernails clawed at the bars until they bled. "If you won't stand up and fight for yourself, I will!" She pulled her hand back and slammed it against the iron gate, leaving her blood streaked across it. The metal hissed in response. The wolf’s grin faltered. "What are you doing…" The gate began to shake as her blood seeped into it, glowing bright red. Camela pressed down harder, smearing more of her blood. "Open up, damn you!"

Without warning, my awareness plunged into a vision so vivid it stole my breath. A massive stone archway stood before me, elaborate carvings covering its surface. The Celestial Gate. It pulsed with ancient power, a sliver of darkness visible through its center where it stood partly open. Blood dripped from my hands onto the ground, each drop causing the gap in the gate to spread slightly. Behind it, something huge and terrible stirred—a presence so old it made the mountains seem like children. "Only blood opens the way," a voice whispered in my ear. "Only blood seals it shut."

she replies, finally blinking up at me. “Should I be worried about how easy it was to get her to agree with me?” That's my last thought before we head towards the southern gate. The southern gate is a messy chaos when we arrive. The massive wooden barriers serving as protection for the lower entrance had been partially shattered by the rain. The ground is littered with bodies, mostly of my men.

Everything appeared normal at first glance, but upon closer inspection, I noticed the gate was marred with deep carvings, as if a powerful force had forcefully struck it. "Did one of the reckless drivers crash into this gate?" was my initial thought, but my hands shook uncontrollably as fear coursed through me. Taking a step closer, I noticed a trickle of liquid running down the sharp barbs atop the gate, and almost involuntarily, I reached out to touch it. My trembling hands examined the thick substance, and a shudder ran through me. "Blood..."

Dad looked at me while giving a sad smile and he took out his sword before putting it in his chest as he screamed a little in pain-"AHHH" My eyes turned wide in shock and confusion as I yelled-" Dad!!! NO.....". I began to cry out loud. But it was too late... The blood flowed from his body towards the book which glowed blue once again, restoring the barrier as the gate started to close blocking the gate of hell and anyone to enter our world. Georgia and Felix screamed in frustration as they yelled-" NOOOO" together.

I’d told them that the password was changed every day at midnight, so they would need the strongest bullets in existence to destroy the gates and gain entrance. “Fire!” Barth exclaimed before releasing a beastly string of bullets at the gate, recklessly going at it until it dropped to the floor. The men hurried out of the Ammo tanks and towards the entrance, expecting screaming and clamoring to follow, and seeming awfully confused when they were only met with cricket noises and a deafening silence after the smoke faded. Shame flooded every inch of my being and I felt like sinking into the ground and dying on the spot.

, the head of the vampire guards said, as the gate was promptly opened. "Close the gate and gather around all of you!", Ambrosia ordered, as he got into the yard of his mansion. He looked intense with blood stains covered on most parts of his body. They were not his blood. They were a mixture of werewolves and vampires blood that had been killed on the battlefield.

"Grandma Sable is bleeding. We have to help her." "You help her by staying alive. I need both of you to be brave and stay behind me." Archer pressed harder on Sable's wound, and his hands glowed gold. The bleeding slowed, but Sable's face was pale. Kellan burst through the door with his blade drawn and his glacial blue eyes blazing. "The west gate is under attack. The school too. It's a coordinated strike." He saw Sable on the ground, saw the blood on Archer's hands. "How bad?"
