The rogues chant the name—Broken Luna, Broken Luna!—until it echoes like a cursed hymn across the hollow sky. I want to disappear. But even that would be mercy, and mercy has no place here.

"She's our bait, she has to stay alive until they come for her." He said nonchalantly. Shawn clutched the gun tightly in his hand as he kept the gun perfectly aligned with my skull.

It would be about belief. Who people trusted when things finally broke. Chapter Eighty Seven ended with that knowledge settling into me like a second spine. I had not sought this role. But I would not step away from it now. Not when the weight was finally revealing what it was meant to break.

“And it looks like you’re doing that, so…” “You leaving is what hurt me!” I seethe, anger sinking its claws deeper into me at his pathetic justification for his actions. “And I’m not damaged, Callum, I’m broken! You broke me!” My voice cracks, my chest heaving as I shake my head, fresh tears springing to my eyes. My gaze flutters down to the pavement, my voice dropping to barely a whisper. “You broke me in ways that I didn’t even know were possible.” Callum’s throat clicks with a hard swallow, his shoes scuffing against the ground as he steps closer. “Ness…”

Mitchell exclaimed bringing Diana back from her trance. This was followed by a loud shattering sound that was next to Diana making her jump to the side. "What the....wh..." It took her a second to realize that she had accidentally dropped one of the glass plates to the floor shattering it.

I blurted. He laughed bitterly. “Why is that, right? Do whatever it takes, Hernandez. She ran after you so many times, it's time for you to break a sweat too.” “You're buying," he pointed to the glasses and left. I stood there drinking and remembering the night everything started to go wrong. The night I broke Sofia's heart for the first time and all the other times I did it again and again over the years.
