Conflicted Hearts

Conflicted Hearts

I groan, my voice getting louder at each word. I can feel the weird looks I am getting from passers-by, but I don't care. I'm frustrated, broke, and angry. It's not a new feeling. It's been a constant for the past five years. But then my current frustration is Jody, my co-worker at Reach Media. Jody just got engaged, and why is that frustrating to me? It's because I am bitter. I am a bitter, bitter person. I have been engaged for five fucking years and I don't even have a ring to show for it.

A Time for Strength

A Time for Strength

He gives me a nod and goes back to hopping from foot to foot. I look back just in time to see Clash throw a vicious right uppercut. Katsh’s eyes roll back in his head as he falls to the floor like a lead brick. Dina comes out and waves her hand over his face, then taps him on the cheek with no response. She stands up and waves her arms in the air showing a KO and announces Clash the winner. Marco’s face lights up like a firework when he holds his arm up. In very Marco fashion, he helps drag Katsh out of the ring, allowing the last fight to begin.

Nancy
I thought this was a great book. It was interesting to read the perspectives of other characters, allowing us to see what they knew and when. My only complaint is a seemingly awkward ending. Does anyone know if the author is ok?

31 Chapters 07/13/23 Yesssss Sugar Mama, you've got my attention. Love a baddie, strong female with a saucy attitude. I was so tired of these weak little damsels who need big Zaddy Alpha to save them. I was horny throughout FL scenes. Thank you for that.

My Hero Crush

My Hero Crush

Seeing the gazes of the two of them, I shuddered in horror, as if they wanted to throw their fists at each other. "Guys! Don't make a fuss!" cried Clarisa, who had just left my room with several other girls. "We won't!" said Roy as he left the house, followed by Kenan behind him. "I bet they will fight!" said Vano while eating casually. What the hell is he? Isn't Kenan his friend? If he thought they were going to fight, shouldn't he prevent it? "Roy is jealous, and Kenan, who doesn't like Roy, will continue to provoke that guy! Ah, this would have been fun; too bad we didn't see it!" Gabriel, who was having fun playing PlayStation,

Collided

Cara said. "Okay, are you allergic to seafood? Or something else?" Noah said. "No, I don't have any allergies," Cara said. "How about Grilled Lobster? This looks delicious, have you tried it before?" Noah asked Sean. "Yeah, it's so good," Sean said. "I want sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and--" Rena said "Give her a pasta bolognese with extra parmesan," Sean said "Sean, I don't want to eat that," Rena said.

Never Alone

Never Alone

“And you are?” Ethan met its gaze. “Correction.” --- The Clash of Ideals The figure struck— Fast. Direct. Ethan didn’t block. Didn’t dodge. He matched it. Not with power. With precision. Every movement measured. Every response intentional. The battlefield shifted again—not violently, but structurally, as their clash affected not just space, but the patterns beneath it. Raven stepped back slightly. “This feels different.” Kael nodded. “It is.” A pause. “This isn’t about winning.”

CLAIM ME, DON

CLAIM ME, DON

We found out the details afterward, in pieces, the way you found out things that happened when you weren't in the room, each piece slightly more vivid and more Marco than the last. They had been arguing about whether shelves should be organised by subject or by size, which was the kind of argument that was never actually about shelving and was always about the specific texture of two people learning to share a life and discovering where the friction was, and Marco had apparently been losing on the merits and had known he was losing and had kept going anyway because Marco in an argument had never been particularly interested in the merits. Isadora had said something that stopped him. Not a wi

After the Crash

After the Crash

“Biggest one yet. Their CEO happens to be in town. I’ll go meet his assistant and sign everything today. You don’t even have to show up.” I smiled for the first time in weeks. “Be careful,” I told her. “And don’t mention me.” She promised. That afternoon, she walked into the hotel where the meeting was set. But when the man across the table looked up, he froze. His name was Ryan — Luca’s personal assistant. The moment Ryan saw Clara, he froze. He knew that face — if his memory served him right, she was Valeria’s closest friend. According to the investigation, the private jet that “crashed” three months ago hadn’t gone down because of bad weather or engine failure.

The Black Cliff

The Black Cliff

On one side is the open sea with whirlpools, on the other are the deadly, dagger-sticking reefs of the Black Cliff. The elements clashed with a vengeance, and the ship was thrown onto the rocks. Another roar after a flash of lightning drowned human screams out, the black water was stained with the blood of broken bodies, but only the sea monsters saw these tempting spots, felt an appetising taste and rushed to the floundering prey.

A Slap to the Face

A Slap to the Face

" Amid the chaos, Don was thrown out of the company in a disgraceful state. Camden and Nevaeh attempted to meet with me several times after that, but they were never able to see me. Even so, I knew they wouldn't give up so easily. As expected, one evening while returning from a contract negotiation, a large truck suddenly swerved toward me. Unable to dodge in time, I blacked out. The last thing I saw before losing consciousness was Camden's cold, venomous glare. … When I regained consciousness, I found myself bound in an abandoned warehouse. Nevaeh no longer looked like the pampered rich girl she once pretended to be. Her makeup was smeared and hastily applied, and she was wearing cheap clot
