All the furniture in what was our living room had been swept away, and the house was bare. In the next second, the scenery outside the window caught his eye. His pupils constricted as he plodded forward step by step. After the storm was clear skies, now a kind, pale blue. The world was bright, with faint traces of a rainbow lingering in the distance. He reached his hand forward, but it met no resistance. He advanced further forward until one foot was hanging over the void. It was then that it dawned on him that there should have been a window there.

And that smile only grew wider. “Cassie. Looks like the crocodiles are getting lucky tonight.” The next second— A cold gun barrel pressed directly against my temple. Slowly, I lifted my eyes and looked around the casino one last time. So many people. Yet not a single one…was my family. Don looked at me. His eyes were impossibly deep, unreadable. “Cassie Vaughn.” “You may say your last words now.” I closed my eyes. Then— I smiled.

And for the first time since the storm began, the abyss was quiet. --- ⚔️ Chapter 31 now contains both the climactic breaking point and the extended aftermath, seamlessly woven so the resolution bleeds directly out of the storm’s collapse.

CHAPTER 100—THE FINAL BOND The storm roared above, a relentless cacophony of thunder, wind, and rain, shaking the docks like the world itself was tearing apart. Every flicker of lightning revealed the horrors surrounding them: the corrupted portal, the twisted, shadowy figures clawing their way out, and most terrifying of all—the figure that had once been Luca.

She explained about the syllabus and about the previous lessons. Mrs.Smith explained, "So we have already completed our last chapter. Today we are going to start a new poem named, 'After the Storm' by William Wordsworth." Then looking at Daisy, Mrs. Smith ordered, " Daisy Miller, will you read the poem loudly so that rest of the class can hear?" Daisy replied obediently, "Yes, Mrs. Smith." Then she started reciting the poem, standing in her place, in her silvery voice. The poem sounded like a melodious song in her sweet voice.

Henna will be mad if she has to buy me new books already. This stupid shade over my head is doing less to nothing to protect me from the rain. It's started to get really cold now. The wind is blowing ghastly almost, it seems like it must be storming in some places. Glad it's not happening here. I wouldn't like the idea of getting washed away from the earth with the harsh wind as much as Gabriel would like that. I have to admit though, I really like storms, I don't know why but It gives me inner peace, makes me all giddy for some unknown reason.
