Mated to the Alpha King
The library garden, when Gareth finally led her to it after a confusing series of unfamiliar corridors, was a surprise.
It was larger than the herb garden, enclosed by high, ancient stone walls covered in ivy that was now turning shades of crimson and gold. A few gnarled, leafless trees stood like sentinels, and overgrown rose bushes, their blooms long gone, clawed at the air.
in the center, a moss covered stone fountain, dry and cracked, stood as a monument to forgotten days.
It was wild, neglected, but it had a strange, melancholic beauty. And it was blessedly empty.
