The Omega Queen
My fingers brushed against the cold glass before I drew it out.
The bottle was small, no bigger than my palm, sealed tightly with a dark cork. Inside, swirling like smoke trapped in a storm, was a figure; tiny, shifting, but unmistakably shaped like a man. I knew it was Thompson. Even in miniature, his features were sharp, his eyes blazing with fury.
Tessy gasped and pressed a hand over her mouth.
“It’s him,” I whispered. “His essence. His power. The custodian taught me how to bind it, how to trap it in this bottle. Without this, he’s weakened and vulnerable.”
