Emma hid her head in my cloak and I placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “We’re fine Emma.” I said softly though I too was on edge. Eddy closed his eyes while Justin flipped a blade between his fingers. They were probably used to this feeling. The feeling of despair from just being near The Divide. “Where does it lead?” I questioned cautiously as we neared the gates on the far side. “Some say it leads straight to hell. Others believe the gods carved it into the land when they formed the mountains..” Justin spoke more to himself looking anxious.

Why wasn't he killing me then? "Still, I can't believe that the power went to someone like you." He brought a finger to his lips and watched amusingly. "I mean, I did everything possible. I thought it could come out somewhere close to me but it went too far. And now that I'm close, it's not fully developed. The irony of everything." He glanced at his watch. "It's like the Goddess is playing games with me." He straightened his suit. "I have real big plans for you. Everyone has high expectations, I just hope you are up to hand for it. I hope you aren't a disappointment and that your development is positive."

Atarah glanced at both Amon and the black figure alternatively for a moment before nodding her head. Atarah departed from Amon and she began running, her breathing began heavier and faster as she increased her pace. "Because, dear one, I am here to help guide you on your journey," Cassandra explained, stepping closer to Lyra. "I have witnessed countless souls pass through the ages, searching for redemption and purpose. It is my gift, my responsibility, to aid those who seek it." "Redemption?" Lyra scoffed, shaking her head vehemently as she took a step back. "What makes you think I want redemption? What makes you think I even believe any of this?"
