The Housemaid Books Novels & Stories

“Have you read The Housemaid Series? I just started it and I can’t seem to get my mind off of it. The intensity is killing.” My heart skips a beat. The Housemaid series is my favourite too. It’s one of the first thrillers I’ve ever read and it’s worth it. "No way! That's my favourite too!" I type back, adrenaline surging through me. "I've read it like, a hundred times." Natalie responds with a string of excited emojis. "Seriously? OMG. I thought I was the only one who loved it this much. What did you think of the ending of the first book?"

She was getting bored. She had been chatting with the household staff earlier, but she got tired of it and fell asleep. When she woke up and went upstairs, her sleepiness had disappeared. She grabbed some old books from the glass cabinet and started reading children’s books. These had been hers when she was little, probably from when she was about five years old because she remembered seeing them before she even had a clear memory. She saw the third living room. The rooms were still the same, but the doors had been varnished with a new color. The mansion was well taken care of.

" A knock sounded and I heard retreating steps. Food. At the thought of that,my stomach rumbles. I placed my legs on the floor, standing up. I fumbled for the light switch and switched on the room's blue light. I wore my indoor slippers and struts out. "Good evening, ma'am."a maid greeted,steeping her knees a little. "What are you doing? Are you stupid?"a maid that came right behind her hit her shoulder a little. "You're new?"I asked the one that had just greeted me and she nodded. I chuckled. No wonder. I can't wrap my finger why we have so many maids in this house with just three of us living in it - or maybe two,since I'm invincible.

It’s been only a couple of weeks, and I could see the cobwebs pattering the ceilings. Books were scattered at a corner, curtains draped down producing minimal light to the area. The entire place was just the way I left it. Silent. Hands pulling at the plastic wraps I had covered the chairs with, I went uncovering the whole furnitures. Truly the house had been deserted, and there lingered that homely feel which welcomed me properly into the space. The couches remained ever as good, all thanks to the plastic coverings, and the mist I had sprayed everywhere, right before leaving.

He walks out before I try to ask him to send some books to keep me busy. I ended up falling asleep and a knock at the door alerted me. The door opens, and a maid walks in with a tray. I didn't bother to ask this one question after remembering what I first did in the morning. She walks out leaving me in the room again. I sat myself up and rubbed my sleepy eyes. I was about to open the food when another maid entered with her hands filled with books. She dropped it on the bed. "Miss Cali asks me to bring you books. She further said if you need anything, that you should convey messages to her." I smiled and looked at the books on the bed. How does she fucking know what I need?.

Even her smile was practiced, delicate and distant. "Thank you," I murmured, trying to return her politeness. As she turned to lead me out, I found myself thinking of stories I had read where the maids were often scheming or bullying and hating on the female leads that their masters brought home. This thought made me a little weary but the maid acted very polite and it gave me no reason to be. It made me equally remember the other romance stories I've read which often painted maids as mistreated or overlooked by wicked female leads. But here, this maid and Mr. Wilson carried themselves like they were part of the mansion's elegance, like they belonged to its rhythm. Or maybe that's what I tho

Maritha replied. "We have at least five maids, a cook, a gardener and a driver. Maritha, please kindly indtroduce them to your Madame." Alec solemnly ordered. "Yes, Sir. Madame, this five women beside me are Wendy, Thina, Alona, Georgia and Rosa who is in charge of the daily housekeeping of the household." Maritha motioned the five women wearing a navy blue maids uniform beside her. The girls gave her a warm and genuine smile which she return in kind.

But now she was seeing it from a different perspective: as someone responsible for maintaining it. "Okay, so library is actually kind of fun," Lucy said, pulling out cleaning supplies from a hidden closet. "It's huge but Mr. Blackwood barely uses it during the day, so we won't be disturbed. Just don't touch any of the rare books on the upper level those are like, first editions worth crazy money." They set to work, falling into an easy rhythm. Lucy chattered constantly about estate gossip who was dating whom among the staff, which of the groundskeepers was the best looking, rumors about why the previous housekeeper had retired so suddenly.

Cathy asked as she entered the kitchen. "Chicken nudgets, Madam?" a maid replied. "Why? I didn't tell you to cook it." she asked, looking at the other dishes. "Miss Mary told me to make this and a few other dishes for the kids." She approached the maid and stood in front of her. The maid swallowed in fear. "Does Miss Mary pay you?" she asked. "No, Madam?" the maid answered, stumbling. "Is she the housekeeper here?" "No, Madam."

So I moved to the living room afterward; I cleaned the floor, the chairs, the books, and all that which ended up taking the whole day. By the second day, I moved to clean the other parts of the house and at the end of the second day, I was done with all the house chores. So I had spent today, the third day, looking through the books in the living room and they had turned out to be quite interesting which was a surprise. I was confused about how the books managed to be cut out to a female's tastes but that thought wouldn't have been a major disturbance if not for the fact that I found the closet of the bedroom stocked with female clothes.
