I needed to not care about Percy.
The moment passed, and I blanked my mind concerning Percy, or anything that had to do with him, as I felt the hunger take over again. These people all around me seized to be people, seized even to be humans. They meant only one thing to me, food. They were the only thing that could satisfy the cravings that stirred deep I side of me, a craving that was bigger than them, bigger than anything they could ever imagine, bigger than me even.
I pushed my conscience to the back of my mind as I stepped forward to answer the call of a hunger that was several thousand years old
