Lucinda had always been a bit of a rogue element, constantly getting involved in secret plots and conspiracies. In the letter, Lucinda revealed that she was fine but had been hiding in this house for weeks, trying to gather evidence about a nefarious group of werewolf hunters who were planning an attack. She had uncovered some crucial information and needed Arystyn's help to stop the hunters before it was too late. How did they find a house that of all people Lucinda was hiding out in? And on top of everything that was going on in their lives now they had to worry about hunters! Could her life get any more complicated?

As she left the cave, Lucy's breathing became labored, and her vision became so faint. Meanwhile, at that point where his mate was abandoned to die, Darren was in an important meeting with the village elders. The room is dimly lit, the flickering candlelight casting eerie shadows on the walls. The elders, dressed in their traditional robes, are deep in discussion about the future of their community. Darren, however, is having trouble focusing on the conversation at hand. He suddenly feels a sharp, inexplicable pain in his chest, and he instinctively knows that something is terribly wrong with Lucy, his Luna.

But he nodded anyway. The hunting party was small—Nicholas, I, and two other rogues named Finn and Marta. Finn was broad-shouldered, with a scar across his throat that had healed wrong. Marta was lean and quiet, her eyes always scanning. “New blood,” Finn said, looking me up and down. "Is she ready for this?” “She's ready,” Nicholas said. Finn grunted, not believing him. “She doesn't look ready.” “She set three Lycans on fire last week,” Marta said flatly. “What did you do last week, Finn?”

She lets out a loud howl that bounces off the walls painfully, but he only smiles. “You need to hunt, I know baby. I do too. Just a few more minutes and we’ll go. I know the perfect spot,” he says, as he aggressively rubs her ears and head. When we’re in the woods, somewhere in Canada, Lucy immediately gets bold. She feels empowered like never before, filled with vampire blood and the surge of having our mate at our side. She stalks a moose and I sit helpless and nervous. The animal could easily trample us, a hundred things could go wrong.

I returned his gaze with a look of my own, unwilling to let him think I’d fucking falter. Marcus slammed the trunk shut and clapped his hands together. “Let’s hunt,” he said, striding to the driver’s side. Riley’s eyes flicked to mine for half a second, a brief contact that left a bitter taste in my mouth when he quickly turned away. Without a word, he climbed into the passenger seat, leaving Ronan and me to take the back. The truck’s engine roared to life, and my jaw tightened as it began to move. Yeah, let the fucking hunt begin.

My head bent down, eyes looking at the forest floor, as I clenched my fists. Why should they haven’t have a chance? Why should we be the ones to pass them to the moon goddess? All of them in the pack couldn’t be bad. All of them probably didn’t deserve to die. The Huntress was a monster, a killing machine. I was surprised the rest of them didn’t immediately run. I felt bad for them. Felt bad for the family that was just wiped out by a single wolfless woman. There was a howl behind me and I turned. It was Leo howling and I looked over further into the forest to see Lucy running in that direction. Stepping forward, I shuddered as I felt a presence behind me.

” Lucy ~”She has to have someone on the roof as well. Cummings ~”You saying she might have more now.” Lucy ~”Take you out before you even get to the gate.” Cummings ~”Jackson.” Jackson ~”Yes?” Cummings ~”Did we bring any rifles?” Jackson ~”Yes but we don't have a sniper.” Cummings ~”Lucy's got it.” Kayley ~”Wait you are a sniper?” Lucy ~”It's just a hobby.” Cummings ~”Bullshit.” Jackson ~”Fuck I thought my family is weird.”
