The day that would have marked the beginning of a lifetime for us. Closing my eyes, I heaved a long exhale and propped my head against the headboard. Even though the curtained darkness of closed lids, it was her face was floated in—over and over again. The sound stopped when a large metal door opened a monster showed up. There was a pounding against the wall and one of the lights flickered on, the light brightened the room. But the people in the room were better off not knowing who put them there, the monster walked closer to the people chained and shackled against the wall.
