There is no certain way that I would actually be interested in accepting a hideous man like him. I mean, just look at us now, even though he told me that this was just a front to make me dislike him because he said I wouldn’t be able to easily accept that so-called ‘inner monster’ side of him. Like, what is it that he is truly hiding within that he couldn’t even have the courage to tell me all about it? It makes me curious why does it seem like it’s really that hard for him to actually speak of it. Could it be that it was a contagious disease which makes it considerable to call an inner monster?

The vein at the side of his head is throbbing like he’s about to explode. “You made me do all those things, every single or of them!” He retorted. “But you did them and that makes you a monster, just like me. The sooner you realise that, the better for you.” I turn the other way, ready to leave but turned back to tell him one more thing. “Being a monster is not just about being bad and ruthless, it’s a also about being in charge.” He narrows his eyes at me and I feel my insides begin to twist, I wonder if it’s something I ate.

"If you hadn't found us when you did... if your beast hadn't torn through that dark to get to me..." She let the sentence trail off, leaving the horrific, unspeakable alternative hanging in the quiet room. She didn't need to finish it. The message was blindingly clear: The monster you hate so much inside yourself is the exact reason our family is still breathing today. The wall of absolute, suffocating guilt finally, completely crumbled. Fennigan couldn't hold the feral weight of it anymore. He let out a ragged, broken sound—a heavy, devastating exhale that tore all the way up from his soul—and simply collapsed forward.

“No. Not until you tell me everything. I want to help you.” I exhaled deeply, my shoulders dropping in resignation. “The truth,” I repeated. “The truth is... there’s something inside of me, Kaima.
