I couldn’t hear its voice just yet, but I could feel it, and my own loneliness was present in my baby’s emotions. “We’ll be okay, little one.” I assured my little bean, who wasn’t just a little bean anymore. The rapid growth didn’t make sense to me, but I chose not to question it. Whatever the reason, I prayed to Moon Goddess Selene to deliver me a healthy baby. After all, this baby was a blessing to me.

We’d love that little baby with everything we have. I closed my eyes for a second, smelling her scent all around me, wishing our lives could have been easier. But everything hard had let me to Moon. Moon squeals. I grab the sonogram off the fridge and hand it to Devin. “How do you know it’s a boy?” Moon asked. “I had a dream about it. After this little guy Stella is going to have twins,” I tell her. Moon’s eyes go wide. “Yeah, it’s a boy. I used a pendulum.” Stella smiles.

Lucas was inquisitive. “Well, the baby’s happy to hear your voice. He’s smiling in there.” Hayley replied caressing her tummy. “But how do you know that?” Lucas was confused. He wanted to hear from Hayley how it was that she could hear the baby’s voice whereas other females could not. “He is a special baby. The Moon goddess told me.” Lucas was trying hard to understand why the baby was special. He exhaled from his end and Hayley knew that he wanted to change the subject.
