I dropped my gaze instantly and asked before chewing onto my lips, "Anything else I can get you, s-sir?" "No, sweetheart." He darkly chuckled. Just as I was about to walk off this uncomfortable scene, I felt a burn on my skin. The moonlight had escaped the drapes of the clouds finally and it was lighting up the terrace with its own enigma. The men nodded and got to work while the others shifted into wolves and darted back into the woods to find their comrades who had been wounded by the beast. With the force of the wind, the lights from the large lamps attached to the gate gradually fade. The lights went out forever but the sky did not darken forever. The light from the moon still remained even though it was cloudy in the part where the big castle stood.

But before I could cross the space between us, the air shifted. It started as a faint hum in the floor beneath my feet. Then the chandeliers rattled. One of the guards stiffened. “Blood moon.” The words carried like a curse, and all at once, the castle trembled. The sky outside burned red, spilling its glow through the tall windows, staining the marble floors like spilled wine. My pulse spiked. The last blood moon had brought whispers of her, Samira. But whispers could be ignored. This… could not.

LUCIAN'S POV “We are going to do the needful this month,” I declared as our horses trudged along the twisting path to Moonshine Castle. The moon hung high and pale in the sky, its light casting long, eerie shadows across the jagged stone walls. “We are ending all of this, once and for all.”
