DONOVAN POV I enjoyed myself last night so much that I barely remember getting back to my hotel room. I do remember that after I fed off two whores, I ended up taking one of the humans back to my room and f**king her so thoroughly that I think I might have actually broken her! I passed out almost immediately after kicking her out of my room. I dreamed about having my little bird in my hands. I relished the fear that was pouring out of her. I wanted her terrified, it made her blood sweeter! Just as I was about to finally taste her again, I was woken up by a loud knocking on my door.

I will have to go closer. I swallow down a large lump in my throat before I move closer to the Don’s bed. He is so pale, his skin looks waxy, and his eyes are still sunken in. There is dry blood around his nose and mouth. I just cannot tell if he is breathing, so I go right up to his bed. He looks dead. I cannot see him breathing at all. I bring my finger up to his nose to feel for any air escaping. Just then his eyes pop open and I scream so loud, I am sure the entire army outside must have heard me. I clasp my hands over my mouth. After several breath works, I stepped out of the bathroom. Don’s chest rose and fell heavily as he sighted me. The wild greed in his eyes made the tip of my nose burn. I bit back the tears. He was not looking lovingly. His eyes never even crossed my face. It was the same inspective stare. This time, sizing me up.

I silently prayed as the heat within us made my clit start throbbing. My breathing slowed, and my body was literally on fire. But I didn't move. I never moved until the rays of sunlight crept into the room, waking me up from slumber. I turned in the bed, laying on my back while my fingers wandered around the space. But then I felt nothing. My brows twitched with confusion as I opened my eyes. That was strange. Where did Don go? As I slowly sat myself on the bed, I curled my arms around myself, feeling disappointment crawl under my skin. I wished something had happened yesternight, but apparently, Don must have seen the one night stand as a mistake.
