The Novel Corner Novels & Stories

It's such a beautiful corner to stay in, such a paradise. We continued roaming again 'till we entered a room full of giant shelves and books. There was a table at the corner where a man was sitting with his book up in Infront of his face. I assumed the room was a library office; a huge one. As we approached closer to the man who was still busy reading his book, I swallowed deeply. Fenris didn't even warn me that he was already going to introduce me to someone. My trembling feet wanted to stop like there was a magnet through the door, forcing me to run away.

I went to purchase another copy of the novel,while you were asleep" I said and her face lit up. "Really ?" She asked. "Yes" I said. "It's so interesting and i can't wait to continue reading it...What of the torn copy ?" She asked. "Uh..that ? I've shoved it in the library shelf" I said and she nodded. "I also purchased a new novel" I said. "Really? Is it also the same author's novel?" She asked and i shook my head. "Lone eagle by Danielle steels" I said. "Wow,the name tells it all,its sure gonna be interesting" She said.

“Something like that. But softer. She might not know anything. Or she might know too much. We play it by ear.” We turned the corner and spotted the small gallery tucked between two old buildings. Warm light spilled out onto the wet street. A sign above the door read “Charlotte’s Corner” in simple white letters. My heart beat faster as we pushed the door open. A bell jingled softly. The place smelled of paint and coffee. Canvases covered the walls showing city scenes and portraits full of color and life.

I looked around until a shelf caught my attention, on top of the shelf is a sign posted in it that reads 'Bondage and Sadomasochism', I wander through the shelf until a book caught my attention. Dollar Sign by Giza Clay. The title of the book was intriguing, I took the book off the shelf and read the summary of the novel written on the back. After reading the summary, I decided to read the whole book later. I turned the book over the last page where you can see a picture of the author and the author's biography. It was neat and small, tucked into the corner of the page. "Where are you, Naomi?" I whispered. "Are you cold? Are you hungry?" For the first time in my life, I wasn't thinking about the Ashford fortune. I was thinking about a girl in a white coat, lost in a city that didn't care about her. However, stuffed between a book was a small book--a novel maybe. It could've been overlooked by anyone, but since I was so observant, I didn't miss it.

But nothing about today had been human. I sat back, watching the way Novel’s hair seemed to shimmer with a faint silver light, even in the shadows. “My girl,” I smiled. I kissed her forehead one last time before stepping out to check the perimeter. The camp was silent; the battle was won, but the mystery of what Novel truly was had only just begun.

The intentional neglect of this corner was a deliberate choice, a testament to the charm of the untouched and the allure of secrets waiting to be unraveled. Settling into a plush chair, Joseph cradled the book in his hands. The worn cover spoke of countless hands that had sought its wisdom, and the yellowed pages whispered tales of eras long past. He was staring at something in the far corner, only a small ray of light had fallen on something that was shining in the corner. And that is when I realized what he saw. Hastily, I ran towards the corner and pulled the curtain away that had flown on the glass box, hiding it from all of our eyes. I had simply forgotten it existed because I had never gone to that corner again. Abandoned in a corner and hidden behind all the rows upon rows of books was a single book encased in a glass case. Xenos slowly got up from the chair and began walking towards it, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
