The door opened. The nurse who came in was a woman I had not seen before, someone from the evening shift taking over from the day staff. She was efficient and unhurried and she moved around the bed checking the IV line and the monitoring connections and looking at the readout with the focused attention of someone doing a job they knew how to do. She glanced between Tristan and me with the practiced neutrality of hospital staff who have worked in obstetric units long enough to understand that the people in these rooms are frequently in complicated circumstances and that the job is to manage the clinical situation without editorializing the personal one. I wipe my tears, watching the woman access me with a look of pity. "Hello, Miss Mariana. I'm a nurse and I'm here to treat your wounds." Great, she knows my name. I nod my head, miserably, swallowing the taste of forceful humility and walk back to sit at the edge of the bed. The nurse approaches me and bends down to inspect my sprained ankle. She's wearing normal clothes; dressed in a black gown and some flat blue shoes. Her hair is black and curly, full on the top of her head like jumbled up noodles.

She said, flashing a smile that was more businesslike than friendly, and it took everything not to slap it off her face. “Hmm.” I managed to moan weakly when pain spread to my arms. “Sorry about that.” The nurse from earlier said, “I am Nurse Bella, and these are my colleagues. We are just going to check your vitals, and I will ask you some questions. Blink once for a yes and twice for a no, is that alright?" There was something within me that had problems following the rules. Rules were meant to be broken, and I have made it my life mission to break rules. But this was important, so I blinked once.

Before I can turn on my back and swat that statements away to hell, Linc chimes in, "Hi. Nice to meet you. I'm Lincoln." What in the actual hell? I sit up too fast and get myself a whiplash. Shit. "Whoa, whoa, slow down, honey." The nurse suddenly stood beside me and holds me on the forearm. "Didn't think you'll be so excited to see me," she jests, trying to make it light. The giant prick snickers. I try to send a glare at him discreetly but fail miserably when Nurse—I glance at her tag—Laura eyes us back and forth. "Everything alright, honey?" she asks as she checks up on my vital.

She was on the edge of a nervous breakdown, she paced around the waiting room, from one pillar to another and back. Her eyes were already swollen from the tears she'd been releasing from her arrival at Rose's bedroom. The air-conditioning in the room didn't dry the sweat that ran down her forehead into the side of her face. The people present when they'd carried Rose away tried to calm her wretching heart. She is a nurse; she did most of the consoling and helped console the families of deceased patients back in the hospital where she works. She knew how things were done, but somehow, her mind slipped from one thought to another.

She greeted for which Qin Yue nodded politely. The nurse seemed to be in her early twenties, her jet black hairs were twisted into a descent bun. Her skin was delicate and her features were stunning. Qin Yue had to admit, this young girl was a real beauty. The nurse was friendly as she removed her IV drip, checking on her pulse; she nodded and inquired, "Mmm… everything seems stable. Does it hurt anywhere?"

Damien asked with an irritated look on his face. If the nurse is a man, he would have punched him before throwing him out of the mansion. But she is a woman and he is trying to control his anger. Being a nurse she should take care of her patient. That should be her main priority. But this one is more interested in flirting than the task given to her.

When she came to the infirmary the nurse wasn't in, so she lay down on the bed, her eyes roaming around the room. She usually comes here after being bullied just then the nurse comes in hurriedly.
