THE SILVER LINING
The pillar of fire over the roof writhed like a serpent, and from its coils a thousand whispers started to chant in unison, guttural and ancient, in a language that should not have lived.
Vosvak Spade Il'Sharak fell to his knees, his clawed palms buried in the fractured stone flooring, eyes wide, pupils stretched like bottomless pits. His voice was gruff but distinct as he spoke the Oath of Reclamation—the last pledge that would seal his unholy resurrection:
"O shadow below shadows, hear me.
I give you flesh unmarked,
I give you blood unwilling,
I give you the breath of the innocent and the scream of the faithful.".
I rip the gate not to be opened.
