He turned toward the older man seated beside him.
Graham Wright held his cane firmly, using it to balance himself as he stood up slowly, one hand bracing against the table. His movements were measured, touched with age. He adjusted the sleeves of his coat, tugged them once, and walked to the podium with a steady gait that still commanded attention.
He looked out over the crowd. The hall was silent. He rested both hands on the edges of the podium, his fingers slightly curled over the wood.
“This company didn’t start with billions,” he said. His voice was deep, edged with gravel. “It started in a single workshop. With three staff, no heating, and more rejection than I care to remember.”
