Okay then. So that was how it worked. POV: Kai By daylight, the pack understood what night had made inevitable. The line had reacted. The rogue hadn’t acted alone. And Aria hadn’t answered the call. That last part mattered more than anyone wanted to admit. I stood at the long table, hands flat against the wood, eyes moving from face to face. No council formalities today. No raised voices. Just facts. “Rotations change,” I said. “No one patrols alone. No one crosses perimeter lines without confirmation.”

But others pushed back because of the power they wield, they thought the normal doctors in the hospital would always bring trouble by reporting them to authorities. These potions, though, are the work of black doctors. They are pure mafias who study medicine and work within the organization. Or at least that’s the assumption… unless…” He paused, looking at her with an amused glint in his eye. “Unless it’s the work of a rogue.”

Foster stared deeply at her, not saying anything after. Sarah’s interrupted, “By chance. Or luck?” her voice sounded harsh, “Doctors don't work by chance or luck; they work with certainty.” She shared a look with Dr. Martin sitting by her side. Before she turned back to Sophia, “And worst of it all? She didn't give her consent.” Dr. Martin looked at a loss for a moment. It seemed he was stuck with words; he turned his gaze to Sophia. Sophia let out a dry laugh. Were these people listening at all?

“Until then, really, I do suggest you rest.” “I’ll… consider it…” I relented a little. Dr. Patel sighed and turned for the door. “Save me from stubborn patients and their caregivers,” he muttered under his breath as he left. When he was gone, Rowena turned to me, eyes sharp, not loopy at all. “So?” “So…?” I echoed. “We do have two dead bodies in the bookstore. I don’t know how long that lie’s going to hold. Plus it’s not as though you’re an actual registered human being. Do you even have a birth certificate?” Rowena asked.

Alex said while looking directly at me. Then, Brian and Chris informed Mia and me about the attacks that happened on their pack in the last few weeks. “What did that have to do with the doctor?” Mia asked and we all looked at three of them for some explanation. “When we reached the place where we got the clue that he might be hidden…We saw a different scenario. Different species who have unique powers and are strong enough to destroy a world alone were captured there… Doctor was not there when we went but we freed those people and eventually got bloody because of the fight”.

The other man answered, firmly shaking hands with the doctor. Doctor Lockehart released Evander's hand and took a step back, smiling politely at both of them. He tucked the clipboard underneath his armpit and motioned with his hand for the couple to follow him. "Right this way," he instructed, before spinning on his heels and walking back through the double doors. They followed after the doctor all the way to the end of the hallway and stopped in front of a door with a black name badge hanging up on it. The name read, Patrick Lockehart. He opened up the door and waved his arm out, allowing them to walk in first.

“Yeah, the Doc, Summer.” “I am not used to calling her by her name. She’s always been the Doctor to us. A few Blue Moon’s ago, she helped one of my pregnant pack members. She didn’t care that we were rogues. She cared that my pregnant woman had a safe delivery. In my book, it makes her a good person. She doesn’t judge us because we are rogues. We made a treaty with the pack and it has been in place since, with no problems until now. The Doc is the key to the treaty.”

Damn, is this the mafia life and the reason why Dr Patrick doesn't want to get into it even though he's part of the family? *******
