The Long Road

The Long Road

I couldn't imagine losing my mom and what my mother must be going through right now. It's now three o'clock in the morning, and Rob is agitated and yelling because he says we don't have the money for me to take off of work and run to my family. So much for a bit of sympathy that I had just lost my Grams. My Grams was the shit. I loved the mess out of that lady, and knowing I'd never have another chat with her on the porch with a glass of her delicious sweet tea was tearing me up. Grams, conversations, and tea were life-changing. The woman had lived and learned, and she always had a wise piece of advice to impart.

OWNED BY MY EX'S GODFATHER

OWNED BY MY EX'S GODFATHER

The specific quality of a year approaching its end. "Edmund's poem," I say. "For the child. He said he would finish it this month." "Yes." "I have been thinking about what it will say." "What do you think it will say?" I think about Edmund on his porch. About Rose in his breast pocket. About forty years of poems about the same street. About the train poem and the twelve lines at the Cliffside Estate and the woman with the anthology who had lost her sister.

Three-Years Contract Marriage with the Billionaire

Three-Years Contract Marriage with the Billionaire

I thought about the specific and building quality of the water behind the thing. I thought: it's going to happen. I thought: and you are in the car with him. I thought: and that is all right. The road appeared. "Here," I said. "Turn here." He turned. The road was the one I remembered, the specific and particular quality of a Connecticut back road in November, the stone walls on either side, the particular and skeletal quality of the trees without their leaves, the way the road curved through the landscape with the unhurried and specific quality of a road that had been there long enough to know where it was going and was not in a hurry to arrive.

I read this book because the introductory 6 chapters made me curious. The second half of the book was written in an interesting style, however the location, the characters names were confused, the months were out of sequence. The 2nd half was the same plot in an alternative style with many flaws.

Enjoyable. Started reading this on another platform. They suddenly change the name of the lead. Pissed me off. Chinese gold farming continues. Wish USA had reading apps. Hate giving my time and or money to the Chinese!

The Moon's Forgotten Heir

The Moon's Forgotten Heir

I took the Hollow Road. I’d like to say I had a clever, calculated reason. The truth is simply that the sky came down low and heavy with grey clouds at dawn, sitting over the northern pass like a thick lid. I had forty-one coins, a single loaf of bread, and eighteen straight hours of sleeplessness weighing me down—and the shorter road was the shorter road.

DEVIL'S VALE

DEVIL'S VALE

, said the PA by waking the soul from thinking after a deep breath. "Aidah...", asked the soul with a doubted expression. "Yeah, Aidah...!!!which means Visiting, Returning, Reward, Present...", said the PA with grinning. Then she asked "Let's go...???" by lifting her eyebrows. "Yeah, As the poet Robert Frost said in his poem 'Road Not Taken', I am willing to take this risk", said the soul with a smirk. "Then this is the door to the Realm Of Life", said the angel PA by pointing into a peculiar golden designed door.

The road to love

The road to love

I jumped on one at 2am. Imagine getting onto a motorcycle ride at 2am with a stranger. I was so scared but I had no choice. Suppose he killed me, rapped me, kidnapped me or robbed me! I started imagining alot of things. What kind of relationship was I into?I prayed to God to help me reach home safe

Til Death Do Us Part

Til Death Do Us Part

I can’t describe the elation and aching chest pain it gives me. The truck is long gone, and I stare off in the direction it went, along a long road that curves off out of sight, and I gaze both ways, trying to figure out which would be the shortest route to a town. One might be close; one might not. Or maybe I’m being too hopeful, and it stretches for miles either way with nothing at all. If I have any chance of being rescued, I have to stick to the tarmac and not stray. Roads mean people, and people mean being saved. I am not going to give up. I get to my feet and follow the truck's route, hoping it’s the right choice.

Beyond Broken

Beyond Broken

Turning the throttle twice, I embraced myself before taking off. There was no doubt in my mind which way I would turn when those wheels left my driveway. There were two roads leading out of town. The main road that ran through downtown Riverwood, past everyone and everything I’ve ever known. And then there is the old country Lake Road that wrapped around the outer parts of town. It was a dark two-lane street with no lights or signs that followed the large lake which made Riverwood look like a hiker’s paradise. On the part of the road that ran through my side of town, trees stood tall on both sides, blocking the view of some of Riverwoods wealthiest residents. Who needed gates when you had a

Wanderers Of the Night

Wanderers Of the Night

There are a thousand roads leading away There are thousands of roads that sang the night. My path is one And in it the moon again smiles without sleep, Now she is my lady I am her slave, servant in the night ... The time was drawing near to dawn, but low black clouds hanging almost overhead made the twilight a real darkness. Heavy, joyless and impenetrable.

My Contract Bond With The Enigmatic Alpha

My Contract Bond With The Enigmatic Alpha

My feet were frozen to the dusty path. “I never saw this one back then.” I was slowly pulled closer to it. Maybe I was carrying the same curiosity I had back then. “Palm Readings & Soul Divining.” I read, staring closely at the sign. A hand suddenly pulled me behind the curtains. My heart jumped, and I almost let a scream out of my chest. The woman took my palms, carefully tracing some lines in silence. Then spoke softly, “Two roads wind through you,” the mysterious woman whispered. “One reaching back. One waiting ahead.”
