His face didn't flinch; his expression remained neutral, yet behind those gray eyes, I sensed a deep and careful stream of judgment.
"Basta, Abuelo." Sebastian cleared his throat softly, speaking Spanish to him. "Grandpa, this is Isabella. My wife," he said, returning to English. "I'm sure you've known about her for years, but you've never met her."
He just nodded, but his eyes didn't leave me. His lips then turned up in a thin, faint, and barely discernible smile, a smile that seemed more like a warning than a warm expression to me.
