IN THE SHADOW OF DESIRE

IN THE SHADOW OF DESIRE

“So I’m your shadow now?” Damian stepped closer, eyes sharp. “You’re under my protection. There’s a difference.” The room seemed to shrink, his presence pressing in, heavy and undeniable. For one terrifying, intoxicating moment, Amara wondered if the danger wasn’t outside at all - but standing right in front of her. The man cleared his throat. “There’s more.” He tapped the folder again and slid another photograph across the table. Amara’s blood ran cold. It wasn’t her. It wasn’t Damian.

Ashmoor Unseen Wolf

Ashmoor Unseen Wolf

The scent of books wrapped around us like a blanket, spines of every color stacked high in chaotic reverence. For a few minutes, everything was easy. We browsed shelves, pointed out ridiculous book titles, and laughed quietly under the whispers of other readers. Diana stopped by a shelf labeled “Lost Worlds” and picked up a hardcover reverently. “This place is... peaceful,” she whispered, fingers brushing the page like it might burn. “Yeah,” I said, watching her, not the books. “It is.” Then the air shifted. A shadow fell across her. Then hands. Rough, calloused hands grabbed her arm.

FATED TO HIS DARKNESS

FATED TO HIS DARKNESS

The air smelled clean, the lights warm, the shelves tall and perfect. “Choose the book that pulls you,” the woman said. “It will tell you what you need.” She vanished into the shadows. I walked along the shelves. My hand stopped on one book, not because I liked it, but because something in me reacted. A strange pull. The title was old, written in faded ink:” The Nature of the Cursed: shifters of the Moon.” My fingers trembled as I opened it. Inside were sketches, human shadows twisted into wolves, claws emerging from the hands, glowing eyes in the darkness. I swallowed hard.

The Broken Luna Returns

The Broken Luna Returns

The moment my hands touched it, warmth spread through me, strange and electric. The shadows recoiled, as if my touch burned them. The figure hissed, stepping back, claws forming out of the darkness. I didn’t understand what was happening, but I felt power surge from the book into me. The words on the cover shimmered faintly, glowing like they recognized me. Fenrir moved closer. “Whatever you’re going to do—now is the time.” I took a deep breath. The shadows lunged again. This time, I didn’t flinch.

Academy Of Cursed Hearts

Academy Of Cursed Hearts

“Raven?” The flame of the oil lamp trembled violently. My stomach jumped, and for one scary second, I swore I saw him. Not his body, not his face, but the echo of him—like smoke, like memory—standing between the shelves. I gave it to you, he whispered. The moment I died, it chose you. My knees nearly broke. “What do you mean? What chose me?” The shadow moved, and suddenly the books around me burst open, pages flapping wildly as if it was caught in a storm. My hair whipped across my face. I tried to move, but I couldn’t—not until I realized the storm wasn’t around me.

THE NIGHT SHADOW

THE NIGHT SHADOW

It was an operational habit she had formed over the years; she preferred the shadows over the bright, exposed lights of the main street. As she began her solitary walk down the long, cobblestone alleyway, an uncomfortable sensation crept along the back of her neck. The air felt heavy, charged with a sudden, subtle tension. She felt it instinctively—the unmistakable impression that someone was trailing her steps. She stopped abruptly, snapping her head back to scan the darkness behind her. Nothing. The alleyway was completely empty, save for a few rusted trash bins and the flickering glow of a broken streetlamp.

The Princess And The Demon

The Princess And The Demon

Knowing she didn't have any time to waste, Sara started her search, reading the random titles one by one, not noticing the shadow that was watching her from the back with a sinister smile. Moving from one rack to the other, Sara stopped at a certain shelf that contained a single book, She wondered if the word book could be used to describe the huge tome, unlike the rest of the section's content, this book barely had any dust on it, the wrapping was also eye catching as it was made of dark leather, the darkest she ever saw, and so were the pages, Sara thought to herself as she extended her hand, curious about the odd book, but was stopped midway by the unexpected whispers.

If Nara tries to make a move on Eren I swear I will flip a table! I was so pissed when I read that Sara saw them in the forest together kissing! that better have been some sort of illusion for manipulation by the gods! #teamSaren

Ruby Fridays

Ruby Fridays

Slowly, I raised my eyes and met her chilling gaze, "The path I show you may lead to ruin, and once started cannot be reversed." As the sun sets outside and shadows lengthen across the floor, I can't tear myself away. There is a terrible beauty in this book, a seductive allure that draws me deeper within its pages. I wonder if I should put it back, return it to the shadows where it lay hidden for so long. But now that I have found it, now that I know this kind of secrets, can I really let it go? ━━━━━━・❪ ❁ ❫ ・━━━━━━

...... Never read a book well written like this before. Full of emotions, and surprises. The cliffhangers are just............ I don't know what to say aside from the fact that it's soooooo good! I'm happy I had seen this in the most popular stories section. Hope it will be on the front page next......

Shadows of the Lost

Shadows of the Lost

“Calm down, okay—” “Calm down? Can you hear yourself? You lost me the chance of ever holding that book—” “Are you talking about this?” Kleint raised a tattered-looking book, a grin plastered on his bare face. Brows furrowing, she tried to snatch it from him, but he was quick to put it at his back. It was too risky to lift it, as Z’s much taller than him. “How did you get that?” “Well, I used my shadow, of course. See, he was busy looking at you.”

Probably the most challenging story I have written. With about 5 drafts and two years of crafting, it’s my longest work. It’s thrilling. I revisit it sometimes and, he, even I get overwhelmed and awed. I mean, it feels like I’m not the one who wrote it.

I love the world building of this novel! Even when you’re only in chapter one you can already see how the author meticulously planned the settings of the story. It’s descriptive so even if the world is new and unfamiliar the readers could still easily imagine what it’s like.
