A dense black mist rose from the mountains, and within it was a massive white skeleton that resembled a demonic entity rising from the depths of hell. The skeleton exuded a terrifying aura, while its body was shrouded in a greenish glow. Its eye sockets bore faint flickers of greenish flames, and surrounding it were ghostly apparitions. More astonishingly, the skeleton possessed the strength of a half-immortal.

The thing was beautifully monstrous. Its body had human proportions, but the tone of its skin was too pale, almost translucent under the light. Its back was marked by black protrusions like exposed bones, forming a row of sharp spines, like a crooked predator’s crown. Its arms were folded over its bare chest, long dark fingers and claws that didn’t seem meant only to cut but to suck.

Human bones, weathered by time and the relentless flow of water, intertwine with the skulls, creating a haunting display of mortality. The ethereal glow from the waysticks casts shadows upon the skeletal structures, illuminating the intricate details of the bones. Delicate features of the skulls become visible, their curves and contours accentuated by the soft light. The translucent layer of calcium, formed from the presence of limestone fragments packed between bone and stone, overlays the skulls and bones, creating a patchwork effect. In some places, the layer appears frosted, obscuring certain details, while in other areas, it is more transparent, emphasizing the eerie beauty of the skele

I shake her hand. I feel different. I feel braver and lighter. Maybe I can heal. Wounds will turn to scars. Scars remind us that our past is real. It's okay that it is real. Today I let Maria pull a band-aid off. That makes me hopeful that despite it all, the sun will keep on shining.

All we see is the muscle and bones that lay underneath it. The sternum and ribs are cracked open wide.
