"Well…? what did he say?" "He's coming." I let out a sob. "Good," she stood up with a look of triumph on her face. "Why are you doing this?" "I want to ruin his life if not kill him. He killed my mate." She said with a look of hurt on her face. For a while, a millisecond, I felt for her. I don't know what it's like to lose your mate but it must be painful, funny how that may happen tonight. "Your mate must have done something to him, he'd never hurt someone without a reason behind it." I said instead.

They have been sitting in silence for the past half hour just looking into the scenery before them, both lost in their own thoughts. "Do you ever miss her?" Serenity breaks the silence by asking the question. Matthew immediately understand who she was asking him about, his mate. I said as she raised her brows. "Are you guys mates?" She asked me while I shook my head. "No. We haven't found our mates but we are attracted to each other" I replied as she frowned slightly. "You see, Someone once told me that the last person she dated finally found his Mate and abandoned her, but what's strange is that I can't seem to remember who that person is." I raised my head to look at her sharply just after she finished speaking. "Wait?! Then how did you remember the words?" I asked her.

'Mate,' Felicia whispered. My heart sank into a sea of conflicting emotions as the truth dawned on me. Garrick, the object of my long-held affections, was indeed my destined mate. The moon goddess had, in her infinite wisdom, answered my prayers. Yet, in that moment of revelation, I found myself paralysed with uncertainty, retreating further behind the trees.
