The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Dead Man's Voice Nobody moved. Nobody breathed. Nobody blinked. The voice had come from outside. Clear. Real. Impossible. "Thomas... open up." The storm continued raging. The rain hammered against the walls. The wind screamed through the darkness. But inside the house— everything was silent. Then Thomas whispered: "No." His voice barely existed. Just a broken whisper. Then the voice came again. From the other side of the door. Closer this time. "Thomas." The puppies erupted.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

Rejected By The Beta, Claimed By The Alpha King

Rejected By The Beta, Claimed By The Alpha King

“You’re fighting, Amala. That’s impressive, but ultimately pointless.” The voice came from everywhere and nowhere, a silky whisper that seemed to rise from the ground beneath my feet. I didn’t turn, didn’t acknowledge it. The river curved ahead, rushing toward the small waterfall where I’d spent so many peaceful afternoons with Lukas. If I could just reach it... “Your stubbornness is noted,” the Voice continued, floating alongside me now like a shadow without a body. “But ask yourself, what are you really protecting? A man? A king? Or just your own fragile sense of self?”

The Villainess Wants To Make Baby First, Revenge Later!

The Villainess Wants To Make Baby First, Revenge Later!

Hayden got up from his bed, then took the sword that was beside his bed. Pointing the sword at the darkened part of the room, Hayden tightened his grip. "Come out. Get out now, so I can finish you off myself.” Hayden carried a candle hanging by his bedside to light up the dark. "Oh, that's sad. You took my life, but still want to kill mine again?” answered the voice. “What- who are you?!” “You don't even recognize my voice anymore, Hayden? Or did you not recognize my voice from the start? The voice that always calls you softly and lovingly.”

His Gentle Voice, His Cruel Thoughts

His Gentle Voice, His Cruel Thoughts

When he spoke, his voice was as gentle as ever. "Get some good sleep. I'll be right here by your side." A second later, I heard his thoughts again. [Finally. Some peace and quiet.] Those were just simple words, yet they hurt deeper than any venomous insult ever could. I didn't say another word and lay silently on my side of the bed. The heavy blanket pressed down suffocatingly against my chest. Beside me, Alder tapped on his phone, as if it had all been my imagination, but I knew the truth.

Lycans King Fated Mate

Lycans King Fated Mate

But then, in the heartbeat between breaths, a voice shattered the silence, slicing through the air like an unbidden echo. "We don't know how hard you are coming, eh?" The words were a sinister melody, a chilling reminder that they were not alone in the heart of the woods. The voice seemed to materialize out of thin air, a spectral whisper that sent a shiver racing down Levi's spine. His heart quickened, the tendrils of unease wrapping around his thoughts like a vice.

THE SUBSTITUTE MATE FOR THE ALPHA KING

THE SUBSTITUTE MATE FOR THE ALPHA KING

They were numb, clumsy with fear and exhaustion. “A fittingly pathetic escape vessel for a pathetic creature.” The voice was not loud, but it cut through the river’s roar like a scalpel. It was a voice I would hear in my nightmares for the rest of my life, however short that might be. I turned, my heart seizing in my chest.

Rise Of The Silver Wolf

Rise Of The Silver Wolf

I fixed my eyes just above his head, determined to project an image of unyielding stone, even as I was melting from the inside out. Then a soft voice, I couldn't hear what it said or where it came from as I was still reeling from the pain. It was a whisper, a strange auditory intrusion that was barely perceptible above the roaring in my ears and the internal agony. It was not the cold, mocking baritone of the man on the throne. This voice was gentle, a subtle presence like warm air shifting the flame, and entirely inside my head. It felt distinctly different from the trauma voice, younger, more vital, but just as impossible. I tried to focus, drawing on the last reserves of my concentration,

Dark Water

Dark Water

Sing holly, go whistle, sing ivy! Dance in the marsh and drown in the fen! It's not a question of if but when! Pierced with holly, lynched with ivy! On the last words, the voice deepened and became a guttural snarl like the growl of an enraged bear, fading into an eerie chuckle that seemed to make the boards beneath their feet shudder. Lloyd's mouth went dry, and he looked at Thomas. "Tell me you heard that."

Guardians of the dark world - Deadly desires Book 1

Guardians of the dark world - Deadly desires Book 1

Her words painted vivid images of a distant land bathed in twilight, awaiting him to defy the darkness. Still, the thunderous voice morphed into a chorus of accusing cries, each syllable a dagger aimed at his resolve. Doubt gnawed at his mind like a relentless predator, threatening to consume him whole. Throughout, the lady's voice remained his beacon of hope, a fragile lifeline in the tumultuous sea of his subconscious. The young boy stumbled forward, driven by a mixture of fear and determination. The echoes of the voices reverberated through his being, a haunting symphony that both tormented and guided him.
