The Luna who rose from the flames
We finally reached an opening into a clearing that looked more like a graveyard than a throne room.
Beneath our feet, we could bones stuck within the ice. Ribs, skulls, different human parts all shattered, limbs frozen in place like offerings to the gods of ice.
At the center there was something that might once have been a tree, only that now it was a blackened husk, with its trunk split open and hollowed out. Its branches twisted upward like antlers.
And beneath it, the Wendigo King.
He was taller than the others, and impossibly thin, his limbs looked too long, his spine curved unnaturally as if it had broken and healed but not the way it was supposed to and his eyes burned blue. Hungry.
