Looking at Snowie's triumphant face, I pointed at my roommate–Mandy Leigh–next to me. "I've been reading. I didn't even open my mouth. Mandy is my witness." Mandy nodded. "Pretty sure Ginny hasn't said a single word until now." Eva was just about to calm down when Snowie sighed and said, "Of course you didn't say it, but I could hear your thoughts. I heard you calling Eva a disgusting fat pig. I know none of you will believe me, but I can prove it."

“Then where is this witness?” A voice came from the staircase. “I am the witness.” Sain walked down slowly, his silver hair gleaming under the light. “Yesterday afternoon after work, she did indeed bring that Aesir man back to her home.” “See?” Kola suddenly trembled with excitement and quickly stepped toward me. “He has no grudge against you—why would he bother to falsely accuse you?” “Intimate?” I fixed my gaze on her. “Where’s your evidence?” “Evidence? Does something like this even need evidence?” Kola glanced around. “Witnesses are evidence!”

Connection. It whispered. Always connection. Ama looked around. The entire universe seemed brighter. Healthier. Alive in a way it hadn't been before. Yet something still tugged at her thoughts. She turned to the Witness. “You said it's waking up.” The old traveler nodded. “Yes.” “But what is waking?” The smile disappeared. The Witness looked toward the expanding Sea. Toward its impossible depths. “A question.” Everyone frowned. “A question?” The Witness nodded again. “The oldest one.”

Witness: Beatrice is called. Prosecutor : The people called Beatrice Williams. Court Clerk: Miss Beatrice Williams, please come forward. (Beatrice walks to the witness stand) Court Clerk: Raise your right hand. Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? Beatrice: I do. Court Clerk: You may be seated. (Prosecutor questions Beatrice) Please state your name for the record. Beatrice: My name is Beatrice Williams. Prosecutor: Miss Beatrice, where do you work?

He gave me time to compose myself before turning back toward me. Professional Leonard was back. “Are you ready?” He spoke gently. I wasn’t. But I nodded. He led me toward the stairs. I knew this wasn’t going to go well. I greeted both detectives politely. Leonard stood behind me before stepping forward, shaking their hands and introducing himself. “Please, sit down. Make yourselves comfortable.” They sat down, and I did the same. Leonard remained standing behind me. “Miss Blair, we’d like to speak with you about what happened at your workplace.”

[Kael] After going to the security office to check the surveillance for the delivery man, I found myself hoping for something. I don’t know why but I have the strongest feeling that Amelia is still here. The security cameras caught the delivery man but his uniform wasn’t familiar to me. It wasn’t like any of the delivery men I’ve seen.

I watched as he swifty dodged the red lasers,until something caught my attention. "Wait stop zooming into the gem"I ordered. "Sir done" "What did you say the thief looked like"I asked looking at the red nail polish. "He was quite muscline"he starmmered and I smiled. I put a call through to the MD of the museum. "Yeah the CCTV guy I want him sacked" "What did please wait"he begged "What did you say about the thief"I said looking at him letting my dark aura come out. "I....I...I.... I don't know"he said shaking in fear.

It seemed like she was at a loss of words as well. Feeling eyes on her, Abigail looked up to see the teenager’s mother watching her. Her eyes widened at being observed like that. She tried to say something but didn’t come up with word. The woman realized the same and motioned for Abigail to join her on the bench. With no other option, Abigail moved slowly towards the bench as the woman joined her.

The stars above a blinding array of colour and pale bright light, the very sight of it stole my breath. They were an audience, come witness my vengeance. I suspected they’ve witness a great deal atrocities over their long lives and would witness a great many more. But tonight I felt they had come to watch mine, to see me spill blood in the name of justice. To watch as I righted the wrongs committed against me, to watch me burn that town liars and fakes to the ground.

It's like an understanding, an awareness; I can almost feel the wisdom in his eyes, as if he's been in this world far longer than he actually looks. He takes several steps toward me and stops, leaving only inches between us. He holds out both hands and I take them, looking back up at him. "I am your Watchman." His voice is deep and soothing like his touch but I have to stay focused. "Come again?" I don't try to disguise my disbelief as my hands begin to tremble. What is he talking about? Have I made a horrible mistake? Am I now trapped in a cave with a crazy homeless dude? His eyes narrow as if contemplating what to say next. I'm beginning to think he's just as baffled by me as I am by him.
