Thirty Thousand Shortfall
When I got home from school, she was always there with a hot meal.
Later, I found out that during those months, she worked three jobs: helping at a breakfast stand in the morning, stocking shelves at a supermarket during the day, and washing dishes at a restaurant at night.
I had asked her if she was tired.
She had replied, "Tired? As long as you study hard, I’m not tired."
The year I got into college, she took three days off to accompany me. She helped me make my bed, bought me daily necessities, and chatted with my roommates’ parents, smiling the whole time.
