For once in a very long time, I was genuinely happy. And I was going to hold on to that for as long as I could.

I need a true advantage this time around. And for the first time, I smiled — sharp, determined, and unafraid.

“Everything. I tend to respond like this when I am really happy. I have been really happy lately so this is just my body responding to all the happiness.” I told him. He laughed out loud. A rich infectious laugh that made me laugh too. “I am glad that we make you happy.” He said ‘we’ I don’t think he knows just how happy I was hearing him say the word ‘we’ instead of ‘me’ or ‘I’ it made me feel like I could get what I wanted the most. It was like a rare ray of hope that this might not end any time soon and I really wanted to hold on to that hope. It was everything I had right now.
