Drystan’s POV Theron, Nova, and I sat around the dining table as we ate our dinner in the Shadowfang Pack’s private dining room. On our table, there are a lot of foods to choose from. It was more than enough to fill our hungry stomachs for tonight. Now that Astrid is healed, thanks to the Lunar Elixir, I can finally relax and have nothing to worry about. As I stared at the feast before me, I felt a familiar rumbling inside my stomach — a sensation that I hadn’t felt ever since Astrid’s life was put in danger.

Jide gave me a ghost smile as he pushed a button and I beamed back at him. I put on a cheery face as the elevator dinged open and we stepped out. A lot of the guests and workers gave me stares as we made our way to the lobby. Jide steered us to the front desk and we asked for the cafeteria. We got directed to one and we wasted no time in getting there and making ourselves comfortable. "Hi. I am Trina and I will be your waiter for the day. I will let you look through the menu. Call on me when you have made a decision," a curvaceous lady in fitting uniform told us.

He the third position after Flash in the group likes to eat spicy food and everyone knew about it. " Well , how about these . We take two tables and take turn to ordered your food from the other stalls . " Thunder said as he sit and follow by Bonnie and Ling Mei . Flash had disappear soon before Bonnie sit at the round table as he went to ordered the BBQ skewers and two La Main for both of them . When the waiter come . Thunder ordered four bowls of dumpling soup , fried wantons , fried noodles for him and meat noodles soup for Long Mei . He then ask Flash to ordered few BBQ skewers for him and Ling Mei too as he can't move around freely with Bobo clingy to him .

The golden haired man stands, sauntering over, reaching out to shake our hands. I take his hand tentatively as he smiles. "Cian, is the name." His hand is awfully soft as he holds mine for a second too long. I pull away, daunted by his touch. Thorran places his hand on my back, a reassurance that we can get through this, as much as I doubt it. Cian takes a step back, motioning for us to take a seat at the dining table. I do so reluctantly, "I didn't know you had a brother," Thorran says slowly, sitting next to me. The table in front of us is already made. Either it is because of magic, or Shinee planned for this dinner before he left harass us while we were trying to find Thorran's mother.

My mental shields were locked down tight, paranoia whispered that it wasn't enough. That Darian's Alpha senses would pick up something familiar, some trace of the girl he'd rejected. We made it outside without incident. The cool night air hit my face, I finally allowed myself to breathe properly. "The diner's this way," Lyra said, leading me through narrow streets that smelled of exhaust and old cooking oil. "Fair warning, the other regulars can be a bit intense. Azren likes to arm-wrestle everyone, Soren never shuts up about his conspiracy theories."

"My best friend is gone. She was taken during the attack. I need to find her and get her home." Sister Loreen didn't answer right away. Her eyes went blank, looking at something I couldn't see. The strange men from before came back into the room. They moved like ghosts, picking up the plates and clearing the table without making a single sound. I watched them closely. They looked human, but their skin had a weird, polished shine to it. They didn't blink or smile. Thralls, Sombra whispered in my mind. They are bonded servants. I felt a chill. "Bonded to her?"

Stray cats were rummaging through the overflowing rubbish bins and fighting over a large fish bone. Thorn raced towards the local inn he had rented out. Leila saw a large wooden sign hung on the side of the building that read, Ye Olde Jubilee Inn, which was the most prominent establishment in the mountainous village. A spacious stable was placed in the front yard where dozens of destriers were chewing straw. The hall on the ground level was filled with knights and soldiers who had just returned from the fight in the cave. Neither of us had eaten in over a day by now, and we were both starving. Frank opened the door to the old retro diner, causing the little bell to hit the glass and jingle loudly. This diner was a lot like the one that I worked at; there were some vinyl-covered booths in the windows along with a long, enamel counter lined with stools. Everything seemed to be either a shade of sky blue or cream white — even the waitress’s uniform. It was, essentially, the quintessential North American diner. Aside from the fact that the people here were all werewolves or some other form of occult, it didn’t really even feel as though I set foot outside of Mountainview. “Also, you poured like you were trying to sedate a bear.” Aria laughed softly, holding her pounding head. “Come on. I need greasy food and coffee or I’m going to die.” They threw on hoodies and sunglasses like two hungover fugitives and trudged downtown to the diner—The Hollow Griddle, Calloway’s beloved greasy spoon, nestled right on Main. The old bell above the door jingled as they stepped inside, and the comforting smell of sizzling bacon, buttery toast, and endless pots of burnt coffee wrapped around them like a hug from someone who’d seen some shit.
