She disappears into the night and I lean against the window, heart thundering in my chest as I anxiously wait for her signal. My eyes scans the darkness outside, searching for any sign of Astrid. Each passing second feels like an eternity as I strain to catch a glimpse of her. A click behind me has my head snapping back. My heart lurches into my throat when the doorknob twists. Once. Twice. Someone's trying to get in. Alaric? With half a thought, I leap out the window, landing roughly on my feet. The jolt of impact vibrates through me, my teeth clacking together. Ignoring the discomfort, I sprint away, not stopping until I found myself surrounded by a forest.

When daddy finds out he's going to skin him. I rolled back onto my side and looked out the window at the tops of the trees in the distance. I didn't know that our windows aren't really windows until today. I could see through other people's windows with the drone, but when I buzzed our house earlier, all I saw was the reflection of the light outside. Daddy had surrounded the whole house with one-way glass.

Seeing the large Window to the right, I noticed a hilly terrain with lush green grass that blew in the gentle wind, appearing so soft, I was tempted to step out. There’s no grass like that in West Ora. I turned to look at Ares, finding his eyes fixed on a golden cauldron in the center of the room.

“Hmm...a library. What was on the stained glass windows? Did you see by chance?” “No...I know it was stained glass because I saw different colors on the window panes but I couldn’t focus good enough to see what it was. Maybe a coat of arms on the center one and a wolf on the other two? I’m really not sure.” “Follow me.” Ares instructs as he takes my hand and walks down the hallway. He leads me through several hallways and a few floors down. We are on the main floor now, in a different wing, one I haven’t explored and Ares hasn’t really told me about. We haven’t been here long and I’ve been so busy, I just haven’t had time to explore everywhere in this huge castle mansion fortress packhouse.

Rain lashed the window like it wanted to break in and drag her out into the cold. Aria Voss sat on the threadbare rug, knees drawn up tight against her chest, the only light a cold blue from her monitor mixed with the smeared neon bleeding through the blinds. Outside, the city moved without her, umbrellas tilting against the wind, headlights smearing the wet asphalt into rivers of gold and red. In here, the world had shrunk to four walls, one screen, and the weight of a day she couldn't shake.

Hermosa's POV I leaned my head against the cool glass of the window, watching the trees blur into a dark smudge against the horizon. My arm throbbed where the needle had pierced me—a dull reminder of the life I’d just drained out of myself for people who looked at me like a meal.

~AMARIS The glass pane of my room window was ice-cold against my forehead as I pressed my brow flat against it, my eyes tracking the sweeping lawn of the estate below. The morning sun was climbing higher over the jagged peaks of the Iron-Howl territory, throwing long, harsh shadows across the manicured gravel paths. Down on the open grass, the reality of what Varg had declared at the breakfast table was officially unfolding.

Rosenda Marie walked briskly across the resort grounds, heading to a quieter area near the shoreline. The sun had begun its descent, painting the sky in warm tones of gold and orange, but her mood didn’t match the picturesque view. She needed space— somewhere away from the clinking of glasses, the chatter of tourists, and most importantly, away from Cayson.

I walk to the window and, surprisingly, it opens. One small detail, the window is not very big. It's long but not very wide. I don't think my gigantic ass would fit through there. "You go first," I say to Marea, watching around us to make sure we’re safe. Mar agrees and squeezes through the window with difficulty, even more than I expected, "Come on, Marea, don't play, just get in."
