"Lyra, your sister brought a man back!" I groggily opened my eyes as Jade Black grabbed my wrist and dragged me outside. Bitter wind and snow hit my face, making it impossible to keep my eyes open. Ever since the frozen apocalypse a hundred years ago, Earth had entered an ice age, and wind and snow had become the norm. Most of the world was covered in ice and snow, resources were scarce, and terrible blizzards occurred from time to time. Our serpent clan had migrated several times to survive, and the entire clan had finally settled in this barren wasteland.

Victor looked at him, then addressed the others. “I was thinking of giving him the name ‘Papiro,’” he said, “but honestly, it sounds foolish. Titus deserves a stronger name. "Evade it!" Galatrina shouted through her lungs. The remaining group of warriors avoided the second attack. But it's not over. Suddenly, a hordes of arrow but much bigger rained down. This was another surprise attack from the enemy. Even Galatrina didn't expect this one.

It was the purest form of chaotic energy. A single touch would cause a celestial's bones to crumble to dust. The celestial soldiers at the front did not even have time to scream before they fell in droves, like puppets with their strings cut.

A second titan, larger and darker than the first, began to claw its way out of the earth. The silver King beside me seized. The violet spark in his eyes grew into a blinding flare. He grabbed my wrists, his grip like iron manacles. "Run," he choked out. It was his voice. The gravel. The heat. The man. "Kael?" "It's a trap, Maya," he gasped, the silver on his skin beginning to crack and bleed violet light. "She’s not just building a world. She’s building a hunger." The dark titan below opened its maw, and the sky began to turn black, not with clouds, but with a swarm of drones that looked like a cloud of locusts.
