She asked him as he took a dirt track that led deeper into the forest and fields. “You,” Toby said quietly. “I’m helping you. I’m not a bad guy,” he flicked her a glance out of the corner of his eye. “I got myself into some trouble though, five years ago, and ended up joining the army to get out of it, and from there, I was recruited by the Order of the Nexsis. Out of the frying pan and into the fire,” he sighed.

I say and tell him everything happened, leaving some details. “So he got up and left like that only?” He asks. “Yes.” I say. “He left you hanging, didn’t he?” He asks. “Yes. How did you guess?” I ask. “We both are in love with monsters of the same mind.” Toby says and for a few seconds, there is silence. Then we both burst out laughing. “At least we know the results. Now we will start our actual game. But this time we would not get seduced until they speak the actual words.” I say.

I was glad to have him work rationally at the moment because my mind was a mess, and I don’t think I could do anything on my own at the moment. Trent was ready to go on a killing spree if we didn't find Miracle and it did nothing to ease my worry. “Alpha, we are waiting for your orders,” Toby said as he bowed his head respectfully.

Retrieve the dagger, figure out who the gatekeeper is, and we're golden.”
