he murmured, “you’re everything.” She pulled back, breathless, her heart racing. The warmth was undeniable, a comfort she hadn’t felt in months. But as she met his gaze, a truth hit her—no sparks, no electric jolt like Alex’s kisses once ignited. Tom made her feel safe, cherished, but not consumed. “Tom, I…” She touched her lips, conflicted. “That was… amazing, but I need to be honest. I feel safe with you, but it’s not… it’s not what I felt with him.”

I said kissing him gently on the lips. I liked how I felt nothing whenever I touched or kissed him, that meant safety for me. It meant that Tom could never hurt me the way I had allowed Liam to the day I met him. But that wasn’t my favourite thing about being with Tom; my favourite thing about pretending to like Tom was what it did to Liam. He might have rejected me with his mouth but I knew his wolf couldn’t stand seeing me with anyone. I knew that would drive him up the wall and work on his last nerve and I loved it.

“With Flynn. Last night. I saw them. The way she looked at him. It didn’t seem like two people who just met a few weeks ago, it was as if she’s known him her whole life. Like they’ve got some secret.” Tom’s eyes narrow. “Where?” “Stadium,” I mutter. “They were alone, it was late and they were way too close.” For a second, silence. Then, slowly, Tom straightens, his expression shifting from annoyance to calculation. His eyes glint under the harsh hallway lights, the way they always do when he smells blood in the water. “Then we have to dig deeper,” he says. I blink. “Dig what? His past is clean, Tom. I checked it myself when he was recruited on the very first day. Nothing shady. Nothing weird

He added. It pissed me off. The nerve of that guy! "Whatever." I left the place as well. I guess he's a jerk just like I suspected. It's better not to get involved with that person if I intend to have a peaceful life in this campus. It's sort of a wonder for me, how did Toma got along with such a guy? When I got back to the dorm, I found Toma sleeping on his bed while holding some books and notes on his stomach. "That must be uncomfortable." Then I put away all the things that was on his bed so he can sleep comfortably.

: Tom’s pov As Tom watched his child play around the pack and be loved by every pack member, he felt a sense of pride and contentment. Him and Mia had always wanted nothing more than to see their child happy and grow in well being, surrounded by love filled their hearts with joy. But even as he celebrated his child's happiness, Tom couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that the peace they had fought so hard to maintain was fragile, and that there were still those who would seek to harm their pack and their way of life.

What actually happened was Tom, a jerk who just happened to be in the same classes as me, came out and said, “Hey what you doing on our property?” “Trying to see Liam.” He spat out, “That waste of space. If you’re trying to get into any bedroom, it should be mine.” Keep telling yourself that. “I could help you,” he said as he grabbed my hand. I thought about just moving to the front door and knocking on it, like I should have done. But by then it was too late. Tom had been drinking and like the true ass that he was, he pulled me closer to him. “Can you feel that Adele? It’s ready for you.”

“Lev will never allow you to kill me. I am valuable to him, and when you kill me, he will wage war upon you. I’m not cocky. I’m just being honest. Just let me go before all of you meet your death.” Tom said. He started laughing hysterically. He was cackling like he had won. Lev was right about him. He wasn’t an asset. He was a liability. He thought he was invincible, and therefore, he did whatever he wanted.

Each page looked like it had been soaked in shadows, the ink melding with the very fabric of the paper. “This,” Petra said with a flourish, “is the *Tome of Deeds*.” Her fingers slid delicately over the edges of the book as she opened it, revealing intricate sketches and cryptic writings that seemed alive with their own purpose. “Within these pages lies every secret about the world’s hidden side,” she continued, her voice dropping to a whisper as if the Darklord himself might hear.

I didn't want to go all out with the decorations, but I couldn't help myself. I heard the door ring as soon as I lit the last candle. I quickly rushed towards the door, undone my braids, played with them through my fingers, and felt some damp areas. I opened the door, and I sucked in my breath. Liam stood there looking like fucking Robert Sheehan - he's from Mortal Engine and that new show on N*****x. He looks like him but with muscle and more handsome. I became a fan of Robert Sheehan when I watched Mortal Engine on bootleg. Super cute.

Tom paced back and forth in his room while Sarah was passed out after their lovemaking. He could tell she was worried about Alicia after discovering they used to be together as teenagers. He needed to put her negative thoughts to rest. Now, Tom paced because Alicia, who he knows to be intelligent and known for being the top student in Pharmacology, has turned up to this plague-ridden pack. Tom arrived at the Winter Howl pack a month earlier than Rowan with the help of his grandmother. He’d had a head start, yet he’d found nothing during his investigation.
