Throne of Silk and Smoke

Throne of Silk and Smoke

Just as Maurice's slap was about to land, I blocked him with a swing of my arm. He looked at me in surprise, not expecting me to be able to dodge his attack. I'd rarely shown my martial arts prowess in my past life because I hadn't wanted to hurt his ego. But in this life, I could no longer stand having an idiot like him showing his face before me. I was about to cut ties with him when Mr. Smith came to me. He said he'd already prepared the carriage to take me home. I didn't want to keep them waiting, nor did I want to waste my breath arguing with Maurice. So, I walked past him and headed home.

Never Mine To Love

Never Mine To Love

Daniel’s POV. River and I ran through the trees, feet slipping on loose rocks, breath coming out in short, painful gasps. My heart was racing, my chest tight. The smoke hit me first. Everything stopped around me. The world fell away. The cabin was on fire. Bright, violent flames swallowed the back half. Orange and red flickered high into the sky. Smoke was thick, black, and rolling poured from the broken windows. Part of the porch had already caved in..

Rejected then Claimed by the Alpha

Rejected then Claimed by the Alpha

the bloodline I had set free: “I am human. I am free. I set the book down and struck a match. The flame flickered to life, small and fragile at first, and then I pressed it to the edge of the page. It caught, curling, blackening, and I whispered softly as the fire danced: “All that binds me, all that claims, Leave this world, return your flames.” Smoke spiraled upward, carrying the words with it, and I moved to the next book. One by one, I let the fire take them, letting the flames consume every page, every line, every trace of power I never wanted. The smell of burning paper filled the room, sharp and earthy, but I welcomed it. By the time the last book was ash, I sank to the floor, hands t

She’s The Alpha King

She’s The Alpha King

_Zephyr’s POV_ Smoke filled my nose, the air was hot and dry, and every breath burned like it was trying to scrape the inside of my throat. I coughed and stumbled, managing to stand up to my feet and dragging Elias with one arm. His weight leaned heavily on me, and my body screamed in pain, but I couldn’t stop now. The fire was chasing us, cracking through dry leaves, snapping branches, and roaring louder with every second. If we stopped, it would swallow us whole and kill us here.

The world I know of

The world I know of

He had so many questions and zero answers. He stopped in front of the park his eyes scanning for any sign. He was just about to give up when something cut his eye, a newly planted tree with tiny tendrils of black smoke rising behind it. Asher’s head cocked slightly to the right as he examined it, there was never a tree in that spot. That was new. He walked over to it cautiously the black smoke becoming more visible the closer he got. He stopped three feet away from the three and finally realized that it wasn’t black smoke, it was the same black shadowy substance that thing from the middle of the night was made of, he took a step forward and the black tendrils wrapped around his wrist. It tri

Stealing My Best Friend's Alpha

Stealing My Best Friend's Alpha

It clicked. The One Tree was not separate from me. That meant I could control it. I could tame it. Clearing my throat through a harsh cough that left a metallic taste at the back of my mouth, I hardened my resolve and cast yet another drawn out spell, pouring my entire will into it. "Let smoke forget fire and become frost; bind this shape within still silence." I forced the thick smoke into freezing air, locking the phasing figure in place. The disruption of its movement slowed its phasing further, and I shaped the smoke into a globe that sealed it within.

Shadows of the Lost

Shadows of the Lost

“Wow!” Blame couldn’t count how many times she exclaimed that word, but she deemed it right to utter it with her eyes widening and lips curving. The lane ahead of them was so narrow. It was filled with lavender’s petals, puffing out purplish-blue smoke. It’s slithering up to the jumbo-rooted trees, which gave life to the rainbow-colored leaves, dancing merrily in the air around them. Inhaling the smoke, a sweetly-scented fragrant wafted Blame’s nose. It went down to her system, and she felt her energy boosted.

The world building is well-crafted and just by the narration na hindi gumagamit ng deep english words, it really brings the reader in the world of the mc. Prologue pa lang, one can tell the mc is someone strong-headed and even though she lost her memories, that characteristic didn't change.

honestly, I'm not a fan of fantasy but Z's character is just damn! I'm imagining her like a goddess. Also, I'm very amaze on how the story is being written. Can I have your intelligence? You're too great, I swear! Reading this story is a must! Looking for someone named George now HAHAHA

Fated to the Lycan King

Fated to the Lycan King

Pushing his hand away, I run straight into the smoke. The smoke thickens at first. Snare had made sure that it would be impossible for me to bring a Lycan. The more I walked, the smoke began to thin. Eventually, I could see everything around me clearly. The sun was breaking through the tall trees, casting an eerie glow around the deep forest. But everything was so quiet. It didn’t seem like there were any living creatures here. A place deep in the forest that had been abandoned many moons ago. “I wondered how long it would be until you arrived.”

1st people need to stop correcting British English spellings. lol The only issue I had with this book is that it was a bit of whiplash on some plot points. I greatly enjoyed the story. I could definitely tell this was written and posted chapter by chapter versus being written as a whole and post

For a bite

For a bite

I wasn't afraid though, I liked to make sure I got clean, the one that made me feel like I was beaming the world behind my back; I liked to keep my weakness, to have any evidence that could deceive me, to feed my girlfriend to deceive our companions and my father, to let myself be extorted by Jorfit and live with the anguish Out of nowhere the engine makes a peculiar commotion, like shaking, and the next second I see a look of smoke coming from the engine. I suppose that in any case we can reach my house, however, when a haze of smoke begins to flood the hostel I withdraw. He just scrambles to start hacking, as smoke pours over his side. " No," I mumble. Aside from feeling too hot, the smoke

An Alpha for the Stolen Princess

An Alpha for the Stolen Princess

They felt familiar, and I reached for them. The world went quiet for a moment. Shadows and light drifted over me as the tree above me rustled in the wind. I wasn’t convinced that anything was going to happen, but then I felt something shift. It was subtle, barely a flicker of a sensation, but I felt it. The twinkling in the shadows under the small pile of leaves burned a little brighter and spread like glowing white smoke in the darkness. The leaves trembled. A few on top of the pile lifted and flipped over in place as the glowing smoke and darkness shifted and moved them.
