The next instant a pack of Pixies came like a high tide. The Pixies lunged at the Trolls and swarmed them.

“Yes. And we’ll help you cross the troll bridge.” “Do they not usually let you pass?” I ask, wondering what I’m getting us into. “Usually we go around, but you said you were in a hurry. The bridge is the fastest way. “Trolls are big.” “Hairy.” “Smelly.” “And mean.” “But not smart.” The sprites say in their strange way, like they have one mind and talk through several mouths.

Time collapsed, and suddenly I was seventeen again, armed with nothing but anger and fear. Back then, Roman was just as notorious as Jaxx.
