Bound to the vampire lord
Kieran stopped at a door and pushed it open.
“This is your room,” he said, stepping aside so I could enter.
I did, and for a moment I just stared.
The space was large, almost too large, with a bed that looked like it belonged in a palace. Heavy curtains framed tall windows, a writing desk stood in the corner, and a fireplace rested against the far wall though no fire burned in it. The air smelled faintly of cedar and something sweet, like old wood and polish.
Everything inside spoke of wealth and permanence, but it also felt… prepared. Like they had been waiting for me.
