Jacob was the son of Hammad, one of the Beta leaders. “Enough, guys—our majesty is here,” Jacob said to his friends, his voice laced with sarcasm. They let go of the student they’d been harassing, who ran off immediately. “What can we do for you, Your Highness?” Jacob smirked. “Will you just leave those humans alone?” Lucas said, gesturing toward where the student had fled. “They’re weak.” “And what if I don’t…?” “Stop being a jerk, Jacob. You’re putting all CANIS at risk. Do you think you can control the chaos once humans find out about our secret?”

“A new group… different from before. They have… wolves with them, but they aren’t like us… they’re… twisted. Dark. Something’s wrong with them.” The blood drained from my face as his words sank in. Twisted wolves? This was worse than anything we had anticipated. “Jacob, stay with us,” Fiona said, trying to keep him conscious. “Tell us where you saw them.” He shook his head weakly. “They’re close. I barely escaped. There’s something leading them. Something… ancient… powerful. It’s looking for you, Fiona. It knows.” His eyes fluttered shut, and despite our best efforts, Jacob slipped away.

His chapped lower lip was bleeding from a small cut and I wanted to just kiss away the blood and the pain. I wouldn't stop getting butterflies, I got them every time I looked into his eyes, I knew he wouldn't stop running through my mind for the rest of my life. "Oh wait! Alpha Travis, the one you told me about back in New York!" Jacob uttered with a smile. "Who is this guy?" Travis raised a questioning brow. "Someone I met just once in New York and told my life history." I smiled and Jacob's serene smile met mine. "I am Jacob, Jacob banners, alpha of the black paw pack, obviously not from your community and also the key to finding your pups."

The organization that would erase Twilight from existence. Jake had spent years pulling strings in the shadows, manipulating every key player in Twilight’s downfall. He had Victor under his thumb, Raoul feeding him Raja’s every move, and an entire network of stakeholders already shifting their loyalty toward ATARDECIDIDA. But none of it would matter if Oliver still had Raja. Because as long as Raja was alive, Oliver had a future. Jake wouldn’t let that happen. So he took the last necessary step. He tattled to Oliver himself about Raja's toy living in their headquarters.

The hurt in his voice made me frown , I felt a deep ache throbbing in my chest and I knocked my forehead with his “I already said that I will never leave you , so how can you even think about it ? “ I meant it when I promised him that . Actually , I would never tell him but while I was asleep , I wanted to give up too - I thought nothing was worth fighting for , that I don’t need to struggle anymore and let the darkness engulf me . I was almost at the verge of quitting but - Just as I was going to give it all up , a light similar to that of a guiding angel or something made me realise that there was someone waiting desperately for me to wake up . And that someone was none other than Jacob .

I continued to push forward, trying to ignore how intently he had been staring at my breasts like they were all his life depended on. Jacob made the path easier. He sought out all the free spots, and pulled me along with him. It was funny how a few days back I had been almost certain that he was a werewolf hunter, killing my kind. But things didn't turn out that way. He didn't like us, yes, but he wasn't a heartless murderer going about killing people, even though he had lost his own twin to one.

All that I could think was ‘MINE’, but before I could say anything, two very low growls sounded from Reed and Lucas. Jacob raised his hands and backed away from Heather. He came right over to me, stood behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. “Sorry. She is just like a sister, and I miss her.” Jacob said, squeezing me gently. Things were good after that. We spent the rest of the day talking with the group from Twin Moon. Apparently they have been having quite a lot of excitement going on in their lives. The stories that they were telling us were almost unbelievable. But then again, the stories were being told by werewolves. So who am I to say whether the stories are believable or not?

Jacob asked with a glint in his eye. "My mate, Maliyla Giuliano, I rejected her, and now I want her dead. Which is where you come in," I told him. Having pondered what he had been told momentarily, Jacob finally answered, "Her name is familiar. Why exactly are you killing her?" "My wolf left me after I rejected her. I want him back. When I kill her, the bond will be broken, and I will have a second chance." I explained as I walked toward the door. I added, "Her father replaced your father as Beta, which is quite noteworthy."

I really can’t wait for the day I’ll leave this place for good so I don’t have to talk to him anymore. "Easy, Luna. You’re gonna explode." "I am gonna explode. I hate him." He chuckled. "I guess it’s a heated one," He said, nodding. "Care for a drink and tell me all about it?" I nodded. Dominic led me to the kitchen counter where he poured a glass of champagne for me, and I sat down on the barstool. He handed the glass to me. "Now tell me everything." I sighed heavily. "Jacob is an asshole." I went on, telling Dominic everything about what Jacob did. He wasn’t surprised at all, which was no coincidence—Jacob was known for his unpleasant behavior.

She held it out to me like a fragile treasure. “Look, it’s our engagement bracelet! I had it fixed! “It’s gold inlaid with jade—gold and jade together, a perfect pairing just like us. We’re meant to be, Evan. I can’t lose you!” I took the bracelet, then hurled it to the floor. The jade shattered again, breaking into even smaller pieces than before. Rosie knelt down, desperately trying to piece everything back together, but no matter how she tried to match up the fragments, they would not fit together.
