Rainbow lights illuminate the rocks in front of me, showing me the most beautiful view, I have ever seen. "How..." I question in awe. "Look down." Salem replies, pulling me closer to him and I look down to see crystals of all shapes and colors sitting in a mass below. "The sun shines in through there, as it hits the crystals, the colors reflect back onto the rocks." he explains for me, as he points to the small opening above us. The sight is so incredible and beautiful, that it feels like I'm in heaven.

The entire waterfall shimmered, and then, with a sound like a thousand wind chimes, it collapsed. But it didn't vanish. It dissolved into a cloud of millions of tiny, golden, glowing motes. They looked like fireflies made of pure sunlight. The cloud swirled in the air, dancing and spinning, filled with a joyful, tinkling music. It was the same light, but it was free. It was no longer a waterfall; it was a dance.

"Let's help me find the grimoire." After passing the long hall, they reached an antechamber and stopped in their tracks. One wall was ruined, and chill outdoor air flooded in. But the other walls! They were encrusted with minerals of every hue. Rose quartz crystals like pink diamonds, spiky red rubies, forest green malachite, and peacock coal were clustered side by side with topaz, tourmaline, amethyst, garnet, and opal.

Deep purple, swirling script and tiny inlayed gemstones decorate all the available covers space. ‘Witches – The origin of a species.’ I recognise some of the gems, others look like they could have been stolen away from other worlds. A milky white, opaque stone, with black veins and a blue hue in the right light, stands out above the rest. I would recognise a moonstone anywhere. My thumb glides over it’s cool, polished surface and a shiver runs up my arm. The freaked out little boy inside me, yells at me to put the book down. I’m not about to argue. I place it on the table beside me and reach for the next.

I whisper, tears steadily streaming down my cheeks. The whole band on each one on is covered in tiny diamonds, right in the center is a different colored stone. Reece is holding one with a sparkly black gem. Raikin's ring has a small red gem and Ryder's ring has a tiny sky blue gem stone in it. Their favorite colors. A way for me to distinguish my rings. "Baby girl. I know we are still young and we have a lifetime of getting to know each other ahead of us, but we wanted to ask you something." Raikin says, drawing my attention back to him.

Chapter 10 The screeching sound of the cotton blinds getting opened woke Vivian woke up from her sleep, and the sunlight that attacked her was unexpected. It looked like the intensity of the sun had tripled, only to blind her. "Who got the window opened? Get them closed!", She groaned in misery as she shielded her eyes from the sun with her heavy hands. The intensity of the light was adding more pangs to her throbbing headache. She'd forgotten that she usually had really hurtful hangovers after a night of drinking.

Lyra replied with a faint smile, “You can rest assured, Alpha Raven. We witches are the most skilled at matters like this.” Once Raven’s group had left, Lyra returned to her private room. It had been temporarily converted by her people into a makeshift laboratory. On the table were several dark purple-black stones, samples she had collected near the Vinterfall spring. Under the lamplight, their surfaces shimmered with a mysterious violet hue, emanating an ominous aura. Lyra donned gloves and carefully split one of the stones with a hammer. Inside, its core revealed spiral-like veins that seemed to emit a dim, sinister glow.
