“We were just placing bets on whether you’d show up hungover.”
Andres smirked. “I’m insulted. I’m always functional.”
“Not always sober,” muttered Julian, the youngest architect, sipping his espresso.
“Touché,” Andres replied.
They laughed, ordered drinks, and began discussing the new mixed-use development in Quezon City. Andres listened, contributed, challenged a few ideas, and sketched a quick layout on a napkin that made everyone lean in.
“You’re still sharp,” said Mr. Tan, one of the investors. “Even after all the drama.”
