I heard Kurt knock on the door so I press the button on my table to open the glass door.

Julian, taller now, stood like a shield beside them. Veronica adjusted her purse on her shoulder. “We’ll be staying with my sister for now. The kids deserve stability, and I need a fresh start.” Alessandro looked at them—his family, his blood—walking away. And for the first time in his life, he realized he was truly alone. Enzo sat on the balcony, the city skyline stretching before him, bathed in the golden hues of sunset. He cradled a tumbler of whiskey in one hand, his gaze distant but contemplative.

There was one window in the room, but it was on a sunnier side of the building. I wonder if Dimitri loved the sun as much as I did. Lycanthropes are naturally night creatures, the whole tie to the moon and everything, but I loved being in the sun and soaking up its warmth. This bedroom looked done, so I walked through the bathroom that connected to the other room, but this room was empty. I suppose we had options on what to turn this room into. I heard the door to the suite open, and I crept out of the room, going through the bathroom so I wouldn't make noise opening a door. Then I smelled him: pine and musk.

When they ran towards the window to see what was going on, they met pitch darkness, which could obscure anyone's vision, even from seeing their own toes. "What do you think that was, Miss Milburn?" Patrilia asked, looking around him. "I don't know. It may be wild animals. Don't forget, we are not staying in some fucktown or rural house. "We are spending another night in this goddamn mountain, full of trees, wild animals, and beasts." She chuckled, going to her own room.

She stood in front of his office door contemplating whether or not to enter until the door sprung open. "I thought I should help you make a decision." Major Daniels blurted out, walking back to his seat. "Sir, I-I'm sorry...about earlier..." "You shouldn't be sorry to me." He retorted and brought out a case file titled 'The Full Moon Serial Murder Case.' The file was named after the full moon because the murder always took place during the full moon just like two days back if not that this month's murder came a few hours earlier.

She stopped for a moment to appreciate the view, she couldn't believe that Lola Rosario’s house was in such a great spot for sunrise, a prime spot to watch the sun gradually rise as if it were from the depths of the sea. Aminah as well observed how the sea shone brightly as the light of the sun reflected on it; she was astounded by the scene, which she had only noticed now since she had been too preoccupied with her life. Aminah closed her eyes and savored the warm light that hit her as the light was still healthy for her skin. It took her a few moments to make hale while the sun shines when she finally heard Angel calling her name for breakfast. “Coming!”

ELORA ~•~ The sun always looked very bright and pretty at mid-day. I always envied how free it was, up there in the sky, with little or no worries. I sat down on my reading desk, and stared out of the glass window. The book I had buried my eyes in after I returned from breakfast with my siblings, was closed on the table in front of me. While I continued to day dream of a life where I would be as free as the sun, a life where I would not be branded a traitor's daughter, a life where I meant more to the king than a slave breeder, my door flung open with full force.

I didn’t bother with an umbrella; it was a bit hot, but I felt lighter than I had in years. Even the darkest places eventually see the light.

Sam stood silent by the sedan,“No devices past here.” I shook my head. “Nothing left to burn.” Freedom needs no signal. Twelve hours of sun. A vampire’s grave. My sanctuary. I adjusted the strap of my medical case—empty yesterday, full of purpose today. This heat doesn’t blister me. It fuels me. These children don’t see a vampire. They see hope.
