"This is the last of our food. We have to ration it. We have to make it last." Mom nodded along beside him, completely serious. "One less mouth to feed. You'll get to live a few more days."

It was surrounded by those 'walkers', stumbling around like they were in a trance. "What are they?" He breathed out, staring in disbelief. He chugged some water, letting out a sigh of hydrated relief. "They call them walkers." She pointed the screen down slightly to allow him to see easier and switched to the website she was reading. "There's information on them, finally." As Adam read, she watched his expression change from confused to terrified. "This is like an actual zombie movie." His screams reverberated across the corridor, and we heard the sound of flesh getting ripped off bones. That did not last long. Silence returned soon after. … We burst out of the center's entrance, but the sight that greeted us made us inhale sharply. We were surrounded by a swarm of zombies. Hundreds of them, by the looks of it. It was nigh impossible to reach our vehicle like this. Unless… "I'll distract them! You guys run when you see an opening!" Determined, I shoved the sample into my deputy's arms and told him to get that back to base safely.

“Underwater drones.” Daniel whistled. “That’s a lot of them.” Sophia leaned closer to the screen. “They’re not just drones.” Victor zoomed further. Each drone carried a small payload. “Explosive charges.” Elizabeth whispered, “They’re going to breach the structure.” Lewis turned toward the central system. “What defenses does this facility have?” The AI responded immediately. AUTONOMOUS DEFENSE SYSTEMS ACTIVATED A new screen appeared showing multiple underwater turrets deploying from hidden compartments around the facility.
