The crossbow fell to the ground forgotten. Grace personified the unicorn was a vision out of a fairy tale. Long legged and gracefully built the mare stood watching him, her long gold horn lowered and her ears pinned in a purely equine show of anger. The long lion-like tail cut through the air behind her like a whip as she watched him. Her hide was an ethereal dappled gray, reminiscent yet more beautiful than any horse he had ever seen. The unicorn snorted and pawed the turf with a cloven hoof; her eyes never left Gavin's. Gavin stepped back from the forgotten crossbow. The unicorn snorted a final time and pirouetted and vaulted into the forest, disappearing down the game trail.

It was so windy and the cloud became dark before a heavy outpour began. “Oh, no. Mama Wendy, it’s raining.” Jordan said. “Undo it. You did it.” Wendy said. She was not bothered by the storm that Jordan just created. “I can’t.” Jordan said as he tried but the storm only became worse. Wendy smiled and chanted a spell and the storm ended. “Wow. You did it!” Jordan said and smiled. “Now, Unicorns. Let’s see it.” Wendy said and smiled. Jordan was not so confident about the outcome anymore, he wanted a rainbow and he created a storm, who knows what catastrophe he would create this time?

We both sniffed the air but were met with an increasing scent of roses, although none were in sight. “Shit!” Valen cursed as he came to a realization. Every frosty breath hung in the air as tangible evidence of the frigid temperature. “It's a stampede.” Quickly he went behind the same weird-looking tree that almost hanged me. It resembled a stickman with lavender leaves and overlapping slashes of yellow vines. Galloping hoofs rioted, drawing near. My heart raced in the same breath as Valen’s. We watched in awe as the mystical powder-white creatures dashed in a multitude. Beautiful unicorns swished passed us in their glory with different hues of mane gracefully sailing in the wind.

Anne said and I applauded her. "Okay yeah," Katherine rolled her eyes. "And, you know, the most amazing thing about them is that they barf out a rainbow and it flows like a river and as it flows, it never loses its rainbowic colour or should I say colours," She giggled. "Oh, I wish it was rainbowing a rainbow," Katherine laughed and I arched my brow. "Maybe a rainbow trout will do," Anne said and they both laughed while I looked at them puzzled. What's so funny anyway.

I smiled genuinely for the first time in Hell, amazed. “They're like little miracles,” I whispered. “The creatures here, they're impossible,” I said, catching a glimpse of a unicorn behind a bay tree. Its horn glinted opalescent in the pale sunlight. Samael grinned. “You've been confronted with innumerable impossibilities, and it's the biota that trouble you the most?” The quetzalcoatls danced above us as Pallor clopped onwards, taking a turn near an overgrown, mossy fountain with a statue satyr reclining under a bronze dryad. She rained water down into an awaiting pool.
