"We were stressed when we heard the tremors." Liam bowed his head. "It shall be done, Luna." As Liam and the others ventured deeper into the mines, Aveline, Killian, and Elder Brandt examined the fallen creatures. Their bodies were unlike anything they had ever seen, a grotesque fusion of animalistic features and otherworldly elements. "They're not werewolves," Killian observed, his brow furrowed. "Nor are they any creature I've ever encountered in the forest." Elder Brandt, his eyes filled with a deep sadness, knelt beside one of the creatures. "They are a reminder," he said softly, "of a time long forgotten, a time when magic was wild and untamed."

Werewolves hunted alongside vampires in the night. The Fae, the most mysterious of all creatures resided in the dense forests within their fairy rings or in the still waters of the lakes and ponds in the forms of water nymphs. Gnomes and leprechauns set up home in the hills and wetlands. Other creatures which once roamed the world a plenty were becoming extinct. Creatures such as dragons and unicorns each were hunted to extinction for the magical healing qualities.

Normal animals were comparable to animals that came from Earth but creatures of the superspecies category could be likened to the creatures of ancient times such as the dinosaurs.

People are scrambling and running towards the forest to hide. I zoom in on what everyone is frightened of and it makes me want to vomit. There are these weird looking creatures that appear to have various features from a bird, feline, bear and wolf. Maybe human too? There eyes are completely black. Some have three arms or two heads and their flesh smells as though it is rotting. Whatever they are I don’t think they are truly alive. “Kale!” “On it Katerina, get Cedar and Joy out of here!”

A deep, monstrous growl followed, vibrating through everyone's chest. Every head turned toward the shoreline. Within seconds... Something emerged from the water. Five enormous creatures crawled out of the sea, their dark, soaked bodies glistening beneath the morning sunlight. They resembled grotesque hybrids of humans and savage beasts, with elongated limbs, razor-sharp claws, and wild, glowing eyes. For a moment, Fiora could only stare. "W-What... are those...?" she whispered. Riven, who had looked completely relaxed only moments ago, straightened instantly.

“It’s a secret organization under the government. I worked there as a researcher till I branched out and started Lumen.” “Oh.” I paused. “Wait, you said beings. As in there are more creatures society doesn’t know about?” “Correct.” He sounded proud. “Vampires are only one of the numerous creatures roaming this earth alongside humans. There are living elves, werewolves, mermaids, just to name a few. They blend in so well with humans it’s difficult for the untrained eye to spot them in society.” Stunned, I gaped. “Mermaids? Elves?”

They quickly turned quiet when they noticed a skeletal creature walking towards them. This creature had two massive horns on its head and its body was a mass of rotten flesh, crawling with decayed worms. The smell coming from it was terrible.

Children were unexpectedly vanishing from the packs without the packs being attacked and it was not only happening to the werewolves but also other species but I didn't know about this strange creature. Massive, pale-white worms—the size of grown men and covered in chitinous plates—erupted from the mud. They were "Earth-Eaters," ancient scavengers that the Shadow Alpha must have awakened from the deep crust. They didn't have eyes, only circular maws filled with rows of serrated teeth. One of the creatures lunged for a group of nursing mothers. "Shift!" Killian roared.

If what Marcus said had affected her. she did not show it. I peered back at the projector. It showed an image of earth being surrounded by other replicas of earth but with slight and subtle differences. Marcus flicked to the next image and I saw different creatures. Men and women with tails of fishes. Under the images was a word scribbled: The Merpeople. I saw men with pointed ears, long noses, sharp teeth with scaly wings flaring from their backs. U
