Fractured
“I felt whole. Like a piece of me I didn’t know was missing, came slamming back into place. You don’t need gifts or a wolf or glowing eyes to matter to me, Knox. I’ve missed you.”
My throat tightens, and for a moment, I don’t breathe. When I do, it’s shaky. I feel too small to contain all this guilt, grief, and shame.
“I’m scared,” I admit quietly. “That it’s gone forever. That I came back wrong.”
“You didn’t,” he says, voice so sure. “You came back ours, and we will take you in any capacity we can get.”
“But…”
“You’re not broken,” he cuts me off. “You’re just… healing in ways none of us understand yet.”
