His gaze was on the ground and he kept crying. Ocean reached the lake side a bit later. She looked at Moon and her heart ached seeing him cry. A tear from his eye fell on the ground when Ocean ran to him and wrapped her arms around him. He quickly wrapped his arms around her as well and he cried his pain out. She sat down on the ground and Moon buried his face in the crook of her neck. She rubbed his back soothingly in circular motion. After a few minutes, Moon felt a bit better. He broke the hug and she wiped his tears with her soft fingers. She then sat on his lap and held him close to her.

Joxan glanced at him and asked flatly, “What’s wrong with you now?” Oasis blinked his big, teary eyes and mumbled, “It hurts… I didn’t think giving blood would sting that much…” Joxan clicked his tongue in annoyance. “Idiot,” he muttered, turning his face away. Oasis puffed his cheeks in protest. “I’m not an idiot! You didn’t tell me it would feel like my arm got bitten!” Joxan rolled his eyes. “What, do you want a medal for crying?” Oasis frowned deeper, but when he caught the faintest flicker of concern in Joxan’s eyes—quickly hidden—he smiled just a little.

My face screws up as the tears run down my face. “They are on the phone,” I whisper as I point to my phone. Dimitri picks up the phone and starts to tell them our location.
