Verena I sit quietly in the softly lit room; the air filled with the subtle scent of lavender and sage. Nastassja moves around with an air of focus, setting up the final components for the soul extraction and replacement ritual. My mind drifts to Niklaus and Arsenio, sleeping peacefully under his father’s watchful eyes. Niklaus has embraced fatherhood with a fierce joy and an even greater protectiveness than before, if that’s possible. His love wraps around us, a steadfast shield against anything meant to harm us.

I rest my head on his chest once more, breathing in the scent of him, the scent of him. The music changes again, Levi Kreis’ I Should Go drifting through the speakers. The irony of the lyrics isn’t lost on me, but I push it aside, letting the gentle melody lull me into a sense of peace. As I hover on the edge of sleep, I feel Cade shift beneath me, his arm tightening around me as he reaches out, slowly lowering the volume until the music is little more than a whisper. In the warmth of his embrace, the pain in my back fades into a dull ache, the hurt in my heart soothed by the steady beat of his, I allow myself to drift off, to surrender to the exhaustion that pulls at my limbs.

She asked, impatient as she waited for him to elaborate. "Bruce a-and Layla Kingston. They're the leaders of t-the Panthers, The American m-mafia." She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Unfortunately, I don't have a clue of who they are." The woman grabbed another knife from the table and slashed multiple cuts on his chest, red blood oozing down his torso freely. Bella went around him and carved a heart on his bare back. It was her symbol; a signature, you could say. Each of her victims, alive or not, bared the symbol on their skin.

Zach said as he placed a small cell phone on the table, “And use it to contact me whenever you have any information. You will answer it any time I call you, day or night. You will respond to any requests I make to my satisfaction, failure to which you receive punishment in equal measure.” As he walked to the door, he looked back directly at Big Al and said, “No one can know that we ever met. You don’t know me, I don’t know you. You will not bother finding out my identity, my previous message still stands. If I want you to know anything you will know it.” With that, he walked out of the club and into the awaiting vehicle, and left the scene. Big Al was too shocked to immediately recover. He c

I say as I begin to get up from my seat, but Erebus pulls me back down. “You are no longer welcome at this booth, Vanessa,” Erebus says in a commanding way. “That’s fine,” Vanessa says with an evil smile across her face before she turns to me. “Don’t think that you can ever measure up to me. I have been trained to be the Queen since birth. You are just a mistake that the Moon Goddess made.” Vanessa turns and walks away swaying her hips as she goes. “Queens don’t punch people. Queens don’t punch people,” I chant over and over while Erebus stares at me in amusement. “Can we please dance now?” I beg.

His body trembled, and the snarl in his throat turned into a low growl of confusion. In that moment, Van’s eyes cleared, the human part of him emerging from the chaos. He locked eyes with me, his voice ragged but full of desperation. “Narah... I... I don’t want to hurt you.” “I know, Van,” I whispered, my heart shattering with the weight of his words. “I know.” With a deep breath, I focused everything I had to reach the depths of his mind, sending flashes of our memories and revealing a future—our unborn child—that could come to life if we managed to defeat the evil looming above us.

Garrett Rubbed his chin day dreaming of a of kingdom over run with monsters, and blood thirsty killers ransacking every village within their reach. "Is it bad that I actually agree with his sentiment?" Christopher raised his hand looking around for affirmation. 'Shit my own life is in shambles. Place me in charge of an entire kingdom I can't even begin to imagine how that would turn out.' "This is simply too much for me to handle all at once." Vanessa grumbled slumping into an arm chair sitting in the corner of the bedroom." All in one day I'm discovering I slept with a legend and royalty."

Chapter 33- Elnora POV “I have much to tell you. Let me start by stating that, yes, some of our vampires can read minds. It is an added ability they have.” “Can you read minds?” “It is difficult, but I can do it. It does not come naturally to me as it does to others. I mainly speak to those through a mind link to the people of our Kingdom. You see, one can not lie over a mind link. It is physically impossible to do when speaking to the King or Queen, that is. I guess one could learn to lie to other members of the Kingdom.” Nodding my head in understanding of his words, we walk hand in hand down the beach. He is swinging my shoes in one hand while holding my hand securely in the other.

Livia laughed, licking the blood from her lip. Layla looked at her, concerned. "I don't think that's-" Vanessa cut her off. "I didn't ask you to think. Take the dame video!" she yelled. Layla rolled her eyes. "Whatever?" Vanessa then reverted her attention to Livia. "You think I'm the pathetic one? I'm not the one tied to a chair." "On purpose, may I add? And you are also not the one who has King's heart. It must suck being nothing more than a little puppet."

She said, “You said, Kayla and Nathan just step by and we were discussing, when did I faint?”. She added. Lucian stared at her in shock as Vanessa suddenly walked in, waving her finger as Ava fell asleep immediately. "What's wrong with her?" Lucian asked, standing up. "It's the baby, she's draining her memory and energy," Vanessa explained. "Her memory will gradually decrease day by day, as will her strength. Killing that creature is the only way out, alpha," Vanessa muttered.
