Avery's Point Of View I woke with a sharp, dreadful jolt, my breath hitching as though I’d been running for miles. My hand flew to my chest instinctively, pressing hard over my heart as if I could physically force it to slow down. It was racing... wild, uneven, like it had just escaped something terrible. “What was that…?” I whispered to no one. The room was quiet, peaceful even, yet my body refused to believe it. Slowly, painfully, I drew in one breath… then another. It took several minutes before the tight knot in my chest loosened enough for me to sit up.

I am suddenly awake. My heart is pounding, and I open my eyes slowly, waiting as they adjust to the darkness of my bedroom. I can’t remember if it was a bad dream that woke me up or a strange noise, but I am lying here trying to still my rapid breathing as I survey the room. My eyes pick up a shadow in the corner, but I am quick to dismiss it. Inwardly cursing my overactive imagination, I reach out and flick on the lamp beside the bed.

I woke up with a start, my body drenched in sweat, and my heart racing. My eyes snap open, and I feel my body covered in a cold sweat, shaking, and my heart pounding. Looking around the room suspiciously and paranoid that the horror may have followed me here, I got up cautiously, shivering. The nightmare looked so real that I couldn't believe it was a dream. I stumble to the bathroom and look in the mirror slowly and cautiously, as if not sure of what I will see.

" | slowly lifted my eyes to his and | breath caught in my throat, he was so close. So stinking close that if | moved my head up an inch, our lips would connect. "| promise you | won't let them hurt you, okay? You're safe with me." Then he pulled me into an embrace and squeezed tight. | gave in and tucked my head into his shoulder, letting the tears fall slowly. "No more competing, yeah?" he asked. | nodded. The next couple of days were pure torture. | couldn't sleep, and could barely eat. Every noise | heard would make me paranoid. | didn't bother going to the gym, and Swayer has been forcing me to call him every time | go out somewhere, which isn't often.

Rhiannon jerked awake with a sharp gasp. Sweat clung to her forehead as she bolted upright, one hand flying instinctively to her chest. Her heart lurched under her ribs, each beat uneven as she struggled to steady her breathing. The nightmare still lingered, making it difficult to separate dream from reality. She blinked rapidly, her hazel eyes darting around.

I woke up screaming. My body jerked upright in bed, my chest heaving, my heart pounding so hard it felt like it might break out of my ribs. My whole body was shaking. My hands trembled as I clutched at the sheets, grounding myself, reminding myself that I was here. That it wasn’t happening again.

She suddenly started breathing harder and faster, her chest rose and fell very heavily. "Oh god what is happening!? Doctor! Doctor! Pete!" Riccardo ran out of the room to bring some Doctor in. He was quite lucky that not very far away from the room he saw Pete approaching towards him only. "Pete! You have to come with me." He said in paick and grabbed Pete by the shoulder harshly. "Riccaro?! What happened..?" he asked. "Avery.. her heart rate is accelerating abnormally! Something is happening to her!" He said pointing towards the direction of the room and upon hearing that Pete immediately rushed to her room, Riccardo was right behind him.

It pressed on his chest like a heavy weight, and he tossed from side to side; his breath was uneven. He pulled his brows together forcefully as his dream became increasingly disturbing. The fear was growing, finding roots in his mind as it began to choke him. Suddenly, like a man slapped awake by a hand, Jace shot upright in bed. His breath came out fast and uneven. His chest rose and fell rapidly, and his whole body, from head to toe, was drenched in sweat. The room was dead silent, but his ears rang loudly with a disturbing sound that didn’t belong in his world.

Claire. I wake with a gasp, my heart slamming against my ribs. I'm sitting bolt upright, tangled in the sheets, sweat soaking through my shirt. For a moment, I don't know where I am. The room is dark, the shadows unfamiliar, and I'm disoriented, my mind still caught in the web of the nightmare. I hear my own breathing, ragged and too loud, and I press my hand against my chest, trying to slow it down.

♡ Skylar ♡ Beep. Beep. Beep. The incessant, increasingly annoying sound of whatever it was, slowly brought me awake. I turned around in my bed, pulling the blankets with me as I reached out for my phone. The phone continued to ring as I searched for it on the table, still groggy from sleep, My head hurt like hell, my hand suddenly hit something and it came crashing to the floor. The sound had all iota of sleep disappearing from me and I sat up. I stared down at the shattered picture frame of Aurora and sighed.
