Alternating pov: Dawn had barely touched the horizon when the pain woke me—sharp, rolling, electric. My whole body trembled, skin too tight, bones burning. I gasped and clutched the blankets, trying not to scream. The door flew open. “Sera.” Kade was already at my side, dropping to his knees. He must have been waiting. Watching. Ready. “It’s starting,” I breathed, voice shaking. “I know, baby. I’ve got you.” He swept me into his arms, holding me like I weighed nothing.

A wave of murmurs swept through the hall. The phrase seemed to confuse everyone. It confused me too but I already understood enough. Varg's voice remained steady, “This weekend will mark three months since the bond was established.” My hands slowly curled into fists. “And according to these records, that is when the Second Awakening begins.” Silence fell across the hall Absolute silence. No one seemed to know what to say. The council elders exchanged uneasy looks. Some of the Pack members stared at Amaris as though seeing her for the first time.

He said and Thea moved slightly in her sleep. "Ares?" She whispered with close eyes. "I am here baby." He said and Thea opend her eyes ever so slowly. The view in front of her was blurry and she blinked her eyes few times.

His body seemed to tremble with excitement, and he couldn't contain his excitement any longer. With an exuberant burst of energy, Bless jumped up from his seat, and his tiny feet pattered on the stage as he ran towards the presenter, who knelt down to his level, extending a shiny trophy towards him. Chapter 38 Alex's POV In the realm between dreams and reality, Alex slowly emerged from the depths of unconsciousness. The gradual return of sensation began with a tingling awareness in his fingers, like tendrils of life creeping up his limbs. A dull ache resonated through his head, as if his mind were struggling to break free from the shackles of slumber. As he fought against the weight of darkness, the world around him remained shrouded in obscurity. His breath came out in short pants, anything more would make one of his broken ribs puncture his lungs. Turning into a wolf was sheer agony for him, but it didn't hold a candle to the unearthly pain he was feeling on every part of his body.

I lick my lip to try and feel out what's so wrong, only to find teeth sharp and long, and a sensation of fur around the edges. I wolfed. I’m a wolf, and I shake it off, shake my head to bring my sight back to clear and fuzz-free, so I can turn and see the others around me. A weird movement that’s ungraceful and dog-like, that knocks me off balance. Nearby, a smaller wolf sits and looks at its paws, as I was, yet it glows too. Blue and surreal, as though the moon has rolled down to illuminate us with her touch, and it’s eerily pretty. Something I have never seen before at an Awakening. They don’t seem to be in pain anymore, either, and I wonder if the worst has passed. None of them is crying

Gwen's POV: An almost surreal sense of relief dragged my consciousness out of the thick darkness of a long slumber. I bolted awake. The room was pitch black, save for the faint streetlight filtering through the gaps in the window. The fever that had scorched my veins last night had vanished without a trace. My chest rose and fell with smooth, unobstructed breaths, my heart beating with a terrifyingly steady, rhythmic pulse. A surge of powerful vitality coursed through my entire body; not a single trace of the frail, sluggish exhaustion from my lifelong asthma remained.
